UAB Football Star Allegedly Stabs Two Teammates Just Hours Before Game

In a shocking twist straight out of a sports thriller, two University of Alabama at Birmingham football players were allegedly stabbed by one of their own teammates — just hours before kickoff against South Florida.

The violent altercation reportedly took place early Saturday morning inside UAB’s Football Operations Center — the team’s main training hub. A university spokesperson confirmed both players were rushed to the hospital and are now in stable condition.

“The suspect — another player — remains in custody,” officials said in a statement. “Our thoughts are with the players and their families as they recover.”

Despite the shocking violence, UAB decided to go forward with their 3 p.m. home game against South Florida. The school said their “top priority remains the safety and well-being of all students,” but declined to release further details due to the ongoing investigation.

The names of the victims and the suspect have not been released, leaving fans stunned and social media buzzing. “This is heartbreaking,” one commenter wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “You never think something like this could happen inside your own locker room.”

The attack comes as the Blazers continue their season under mounting pressure, making Saturday’s matchup one of the most emotionally charged games in school history.

Officials haven’t revealed what sparked the stabbing, but police remain at the scene collecting evidence.
