Rosie O’Donnell Blames Trump for “Forcing” Her Family Out of America — Fled Just Days Before Inauguration

“He made us move!” — Rosie’s daughter blames President Trump as O’Donnell flees to Ireland, rages on liberal talk show

Liberal comedian and longtime Trump critic Rosie O’Donnell is once again making headlines for attacking President Donald Trump — this time claiming he personally drove her family out of the United States and into self-imposed exile in Ireland.

Appearing on CNN’s The Jim Acosta Show, O’Donnell painted a dramatic portrait of political flight, claiming her own daughter screamed and pounded a table in rage over President Trump’s re-election and renewed crackdown on anti-American celebrities.

“He made us move for our own safety… and now he’s destroying the country,” O’Donnell quoted her daughter as saying. “Damn him. Damn Trump.”

The 63-year-old ex-talk show host said she left America just five days before Trump’s second inauguration in January 2025. By March, she confirmed on TikTok that she had relocated permanently to Ireland.

“It’s pretty wonderful,” she said at the time, smiling from her new home abroad.

But critics say it’s no coincidence the move came shortly after Trump publicly floated revoking her citizenship on Truth Social.

“She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland — if they want her,” Trump posted in July. “God Bless America!”

White House press secretary Abigail Jackson wasted no time firing back at O’Donnell’s latest televised meltdown.

“Rosie O’Donnell clearly suffers from a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome,” Jackson told Fox News Digital. “Frankly, it’s better for the entire country that she decided to move away.”

Jackson previously celebrated O’Donnell’s relocation as a “win for American sanity.”

O’Donnell’s hatred for Trump is nothing new. Their public feud began nearly 20 years ago when she insulted him on The View in 2006, mocking his businesses and appearance. Trump fired back with years of public rebukes — even calling her a “real loser” in his 2015 campaign speeches.

Now, in 2025, that feud has become international.

Despite her decision to leave, O’Donnell claims she still feels obligated to “stand in defiance” of Trump — but admitted on Acosta’s show that the fight has taken a toll.

“I did 22 years. I don’t really need to do any more,” she said. “And I don’t want my kid to be so affected by it.”

She also revealed that she is finalizing Irish citizenship based on her grandparents’ roots — a move that would give her dual nationality.

“It’ll be good to have my Irish citizenship, especially since Trump keeps threatening to take away mine,” she told The Daily Telegraph earlier this year.

Legal scholars say Trump’s threats to revoke citizenship have no legal weight — the Constitution protects anyone born in the U.S., including O’Donnell, under the 14th Amendment.

But critics argue that Trump’s bluster isn’t about legality — it’s about sending a message: If you hate America, maybe it’s time to leave.

And apparently, Rosie took that advice to heart.

Rosie O’Donnell now joins a growing list of celebrities who vowed to leave the country if Trump returned to power. Unlike many, she actually followed through — albeit in dramatic, camera-ready fashion.

But as one Truth Social user wrote:

“She ran away. Trump won. America wins.”

  1. Now you are miserable and Irish people don’t like your big fat pig mouth . Come back here , nothing like America 🇺🇸. Where ever you lived on the corner of the face of the earth you will NOT be happy. Don’t. Blame President Trump of your misfortune . You are life time loser Karma

  2. No, she chose to leave the United States; which was her right and her choice. He can’t make her do anything. There is still freedom of speech, when you say truth and speak words other than what he wants to hear, there will always be backlash.

  3. Wo really cares about Rosie O\’Donnell? She is old news. Please quit running articles about her.

  4. No one can make you move unless you are being legally evicted. You’re just suffering from sour grapes because you don’t want to play with someone who won’t kiss body parts.

  5. Poor Rosie, President Trump didn\’t \” make them move\”: Rosie made them move. Her ignorance and hold on Democrat talking points, which, by the way, have been proven wrong , made her move .

  6. Nope, YOU made the choice NOT President Trump. Hope you can get along with those living around you…if not, may I suggest you relocate again to Antarctica? Better pack those long-johns for that move!

  7. Rosie O’Donnell has lost hermind.  Thank goodness she left the United States.  Sent from my iPhone

  8. BULLSHIT!!! She chose to leave because her warped ego would allow her to stay! Rosie’s point of this stunt failed because it missed what intended to be her attempt at a deviant stand against Trump! Instead it was met with overwhelming cheers and applause on watching her and her family leave the USA!
America can only pray she remains outside of US borders and suffers in solitude with her drug addict and misfit daughter!
