Melania Trump’s Makeup Artist Says She was Canceled by Beauty Industry

Nicole Bryl, longtime personal makeup artist to First Lady Melania Trump, has come forward with explosive claims that she was blacklisted by the fashion and beauty industry — all because she refused to disown the Trump family.

In a revealing interview on the “Return on Identity” podcast, Bryl said her decades-long career came under fire after she stood by Melania during Donald Trump’s presidency and beyond. “I was working with the Trump family, who I had been working with for decades,” she said. “But because I was working with Melania, all of a sudden beauty didn’t become beauty anymore — it became political.”

Bryl, who had worked with A-listers and elite brands for years, said she was blindsided by the sudden industry hostility. She described how companies stopped taking her calls, stopped sending her products, and cut ties with her completely once they saw her public association with the First Lady.

“They wouldn’t talk to me,” Bryl said. “Lipstick wasn’t lipstick anymore — it was about your politics. I was naïve and didn’t understand what was happening at first. Then all the doors started slamming.”

She also revealed that business opportunities were routinely dangled in front of her — with one disturbing catch: she would have to erase all public mention of Melania Trump. “People kept saying, ‘We’ll meet with you, but only if you take Melania off your Instagram, never mention her again, and basically pretend she was never your client.’ They literally said those words.”

But Bryl refused.

Instead of bowing to what she describes as a “mob mentality,” Bryl said she drew strength from Melania’s own quiet resilience. “Melania has been bullied constantly,” she said. “She’s one of the most incredible, kind, and dignified people I’ve ever met. I wasn’t going to walk away from her just to keep my career safe.”

Bryl admitted the pressure was intense and the financial toll was real. “Of course it would have been easier to cave. I didn’t want to go broke. But I thought to myself, I hate bullies — always have. And no one is going to bully me into abandoning someone I believe in.”

The makeup artist, who first began working with Melania in the early 2000s, said she’s speaking out now because cancel culture has gone too far — and she knows she’s not alone.

“What happened to me is just one small part of what’s happening across the country,” Bryl said. “There’s no tolerance for independent thought. If you step out of line — even just by doing your job — they try to erase you.”

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment, but supporters of the First Lady are already rallying behind Bryl online, praising her for standing firm in the face of what they describe as “anti-Trump industry bullying.”

As President Trump continues his second term in office, Bryl’s story adds to a growing list of professionals in media, entertainment, and fashion who say they were punished simply for being associated with the Trump name.

For Bryl, the message is clear: “If loyalty and integrity cost me a few gigs, so be it. I’m not going to betray my client just to get back into the good graces of people who never really valued me in the first place.”
