Trump Torches Barack Obama During Melania’s Red-Carpet Debut in D.C.

President Donald Trump turned his wife Melania’s movie premiere into a full-blown cultural moment Thursday night, using the spotlight to bash Hollywood, mock Barack Obama, and rally his base as the First Lady stepped into her new role as filmmaker.

The premiere of Melania: Twenty Days to History — a documentary following the First Lady through the tense lead-up to Trump’s second inauguration — drew a rare mix of celebrities, power players, and administration allies to the Trump-Kennedy Center.

The crowd roared when the President stepped onto the carpet next to Melania, who wore a black Dolce & Gabbana dress and stilettos, greeting guests that included Dr. Phil, Nicki Minaj, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and several influential GOP governors.

Trump wasted no time skewering the entertainment industry he has long accused of going woke and going broke.

“This is what real ratings look like,” Trump said, glancing around the packed lobby. “It feels like the good old days — back when the Academy Awards still had an audience.”

An attendee nearby told us Trump was “in classic form,” describing the President as “grinning like a man who knows he owns the room — and the moment.”

The line drew laughter from the crowd, many of whom openly joked throughout the night about the Oscars’ steady collapse under progressive activism.

When asked about Amazon’s massive $40 million deal for Melania’s documentary rights, Trump delivered another jab — this time at former President Barack Obama and his heavily publicized Netflix partnership.

“Ask President Obama who got paid all that money and hasn’t done anything,” Trump said. “Melania actually produced something. A big difference.”

A senior adviser standing nearby whispered, “That one’s going to sting,” predicting that Obama allies “will lose their minds by morning.”

Inside the theater, Melania thanked supporters and described the film as “a window into the chaos, the beauty, and the pressure of a second campaign and a second term.”

“You will see humor, you will see grief, you will see fashion. It was my life,” the First Lady said, drawing loud applause.

Her team confirmed that major streamers began a bidding war the moment early footage leaked last year. Industry insiders still believe Amazon’s win was partly driven by owner Jeff Bezos’ public attempt to “reset tensions” with the Trump administration.

One absence stirred attention: Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, who was expected to join the First Family on the carpet.
Noem has faced mounting calls to resign after Border Patrol agents fatally shot a protester in Minneapolis over the weekend.

Trump, however, doubled down on support for Tom Homan, his newly appointed immigration enforcer in Minnesota.

“Tom is terrific. But we have to get rid of the criminals,” Trump said, a remark that drew cheers from attendees.

The high-stakes negotiations with Amazon were led by Melania’s longtime agent Marc Beckman.
Beckman praised the studio, saying: “Amazon has been a strong partner from day one. They backed the project, respected Melania’s vision, and supported every step of production.”

A senior Amazon executive at the premiere reportedly said the documentary could be “one of the most-watched political films in American streaming history.”

The documentary comes on the heels of Melania’s bestselling memoir, Melania, which stunned critics by dominating the New York Times list for months.

The film’s trailer ends with a line that many in the room said gave them chills.

“Everyone wants to know. So here it is,” Melania says, looking directly into the camera.

For a First Lady who has long preferred silence to spectacle, the moment drew a standing ovation.
