Trump Uncovers BILLIONS in ‘Questionable Payments’ Made by Biden Administration

A new federal audit has uncovered what Trump administration officials are calling one of the most egregious abuses of taxpayer funds in modern history — and it happened squarely under President Joe Biden’s watch.

According to a blistering 2025 Agency Financial Report released by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), nearly $6 billion in questionable payments were made under Biden’s rental assistance programs — including handouts to more than 30,000 dead tenants and thousands of potential illegal immigrants.

“This is not just bureaucratic incompetence — it’s a betrayal of American taxpayers,” said HUD Secretary Scott Turner, who was appointed by President Trump during his second term. “This is what happens when you prioritize political agendas over program integrity.”

The internal audit, which compared HUD records with U.S. Treasury databases, revealed that deceased individuals were listed as active recipients of housing benefits in all 50 states. Turner said the bulk of the fraudulent payments were traced to Democrat strongholds like California, New York, and Washington, D.C.

“This wasn’t a glitch. This was systemic,” Turner told Jesse Watters Primetime. “Tens of thousands of fake or deceased tenants were receiving rental support while American families were being priced out of homes due to Biden’s inflation and immigration policies.”

The report suggests a significant portion of the waste stemmed from Biden’s push to “rush funding out the door” during his final year in office — with little to no oversight.

During the Biden administration, HUD was helmed by Secretary Marcia Fudge, who resigned abruptly in early 2024 amid mounting criticism over rising housing costs and a surge in fraudulent claims within public programs. Fudge has not responded to requests for comment on the new findings.

Under her tenure, HUD reportedly placed “substantial trust” in non-federal entities to distribute federal rental assistance — to the tune of $50 billion in FY 2024 alone. But the oversight, according to HUD’s current leadership, was nonexistent.

“We were essentially flying blind,” one senior HUD official said. “The Biden White House handed us a trillion-dollar mess and zero tools to clean it up.”

The audit also raises alarms about potential payments to non-citizens — including individuals believed to be in the country illegally.

“Biden’s open-border policies didn’t just flood our cities. They bled our housing programs dry,” Turner said. “Americans were shoved to the back of the line while federal aid went to the dead or undocumented.”

Turner noted that many of the improper payments overlapped with sanctuary jurisdictions, where local enforcement of federal housing and immigration laws had been effectively neutered during the Biden years.

Secretary Turner confirmed that HUD has begun preparing criminal referrals and could pause or revoke funding to organizations or municipalities complicit in the fraud.

“This administration takes this seriously. We will be conducting a full review of every single suspicious payment,” Turner told Fox News Digital. “No one — not even government contractors — is above the law.”

Turner added that reforms originally launched under Trump’s first term — including biometric verification and centralized payment tracking — are now being reinstated and expanded.

President Trump, speaking at a recent housing summit in Texas, applauded HUD’s crackdown.

“Under Biden, the dead were getting rent checks while real Americans were getting eviction notices,” Trump said. “That ends now. We are putting American families first — and we are taking our country back, one agency at a time.”
