Hunter Biden’s long-running child support battle just exploded again — this time with his ex demanding that a judge throw the former first son behind bars.
Lunden Roberts, the mother of Hunter’s 7-year-old daughter, Navy Joan Roberts, has asked an Arkansas court to reopen their case and jail the 55-year-old over what she describes as repeated failures to honor their child support agreement.
According to newly filed court documents, Roberts wants Hunter incarcerated in the Independence County Detention Center until he complies with court orders tied to the deal they reached in 2023.
“Incarcerate him… as a civil penalty until he purges his contempt,” the filing states.
The former couple reached a settlement after years of bitter legal fighting, agreeing that Hunter would provide financial support — including proceeds from a specified number of his controversial art sales — for their daughter. In exchange, Roberts dropped her request that Navy take the Biden last name and reduced her child support demand from $20,000 a month to $5,000.
Hunter had famously denied paternity for years, until a court-ordered DNA test in 2019 confirmed he was the father.
Now, Roberts claims Hunter has once again vanished from his daughter’s life.
The motion alleges that while father and daughter briefly bonded through scheduled phone calls, Hunter abruptly cut off contact in 2024 following the release of Roberts’ memoir, Out of the Shadows. The filing insists the book did not attack or disparage him — but says his disappearance left Navy emotionally devastated.
One particularly painful moment cited in the filing involves a family wedding, where Navy reportedly expected her father to walk her down the aisle and dance with her — only to realize he wouldn’t be there.
Roberts argues that jail time is the only thing that gets Hunter’s attention.
“As is systemic in the history of this case, it is because of Mr. Biden’s antics that we find ourselves back before this court,” the motion states.
The filing, first spotlighted online by conservative watchdog group Marco Polo, also accuses Hunter of using emotional guilt and remorse as leverage to convince Roberts to accept less financial support.
Despite the alleged abandonment, the documents paint a heartbreaking picture of Navy’s loyalty to her father. According to Roberts, the young girl believes her dad “lives far away and is really busy” — and has even said she “can’t wait to get to heaven” so she can be with him again.
“To this day, MC1 has not heard again from her father,” the filing reads, despite Hunter previously claiming he lived “in guilt and remorse every second” he wasn’t part of her life.
Roberts is also asking the court to revisit the child support amount, arguing that Hunter’s financial situation has changed — while Navy remains excluded from the lifestyle enjoyed by the rest of the Biden family.
“MC1 has begun to realize that she does not have access to the same lifestyle as Mr. Biden’s other children,” the motion states, referencing Hunter’s son Beau, whom he shares with wife Melissa Cohen.
Hunter, the son of President Joe Biden, has not publicly responded to the latest court filing.
For now, Roberts says she’s done waiting — and wants a judge to make sure Hunter finally answers, even if it takes jail time to do it.
