Don Lemon ‘Investigated’ by Trump DOJ After Storming Church with Anti-ICE Mob

Don Lemon is in federal trouble again — and this time the Trump Justice Department says the former CNN star may have crossed the line from reporting to participating in a crime.

Lemon followed anti-ICE agitators into Cities Church in St. Paul during Sunday worship and livestreamed as they disrupted the service. Federal officials say he didn’t just document the chaos — he helped legitimize it.

Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon blasted him publicly.
“A church is not your protest zone. Lemon is on notice,” she wrote. “We are investigating federal crimes.”

Dhillon later told Benny Johnson the DOJ believes Lemon knew the mob planned to storm the church. “He walked inside with them. Journalism is not a shield. If he embedded himself in a criminal conspiracy, he’s accountable.”

A senior DOJ source echoed that warning. “We are prepared to prosecute. Religious liberty is not negotiable.”

Inside the sanctuary, lead pastor Jonathan Parnell confronted Lemon. “This is shameful,” he said. “We’re here to worship Jesus.” Moments later, he ordered Lemon to leave.

Lemon claims he’s being targeted for political reasons. “I’m being cast as the face of a protest I was covering,” he said. “It’s manufactured outrage.”

But the Trump administration isn’t backing off. Officials say Lemon could be investigated under the FACE Act, which carries steep fines and prison time for interfering with religious services.

Lemon, fired by CNN in 2023, now livestreams independently. Critics say his activism has replaced journalism.
“This looked like participation, not reporting,” said a former CNN colleague.

The federal probe is active. And for the first time in his career, Don Lemon may be facing consequences not from ratings — but from the law.
