A new and explosive theory is reshaping the Jeffrey Epstein scandal — and it points straight at Moscow.
A former CIA officer now claims the late financier wasn’t just trafficking influence, money, and abuse, but was secretly feeding compromising intelligence to Russia. The allegation suggests that the fallout from Epstein’s crimes may still be shaping global politics in 2026.
At the center of the claim is Jeffrey Epstein, whose secretive lifestyle, fake documents, and elite connections have fueled spy allegations for years.
This time, the accusation comes from inside the U.S. intelligence world.
Brittany Butler, a former CIA targeting officer who specialized in recruiting foreign assets, says Epstein functioned as a long-term intelligence asset for Russia.
“Epstein passed extremely sensitive, compromising information on influential policymakers to the Russians,” Butler said in a recent video. “They’re using that material as leverage over world leaders — including President Donald Trump.”
According to Butler, the strategy fits Russia’s intelligence playbook.
“Russia plays the long game,” she said. “They wait. They seed influence. They apply pressure quietly.”
The theory gained momentum this week after Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced a new investigation into Epstein’s international ties.
Tusk said recently released Epstein files suggest the disgraced financier’s activities may have been “co-organized by Russian intelligence services.”
That claim has set off alarm bells across NATO-aligned governments already grappling with election interference, cyberwarfare, and covert blackmail operations.
For years, Epstein was widely rumored to have links to Israeli intelligence. Butler disputes that narrative.
“If Israel had the kind of information Russia allegedly holds,” she said, “Iran would already be rubble.”
Her argument centers on tactics. Israel, she claims, acts decisively and publicly. Russia prefers patience and secrecy.
“They don’t blow things up,” Butler said. “They wait until the leverage matters most.”
Federal investigators uncovered disturbing clues long before Epstein’s death.
During a 2019 raid of his Manhattan mansion, the Department of Justice found a locked safe containing a fake Austrian passport. The document bore Epstein’s photo but listed a different name and showed extensive travel across Europe and the Middle East.
Agents also documented sophisticated surveillance equipment inside the $68 million townhouse.
Former law enforcement sources have described the residence as a collection hub for secret recordings of powerful figures — material allegedly used for blackmail.
One insider previously called it “one of the most expansive honeytrap operations ever uncovered.”
Newly released DOJ records reveal Epstein contacted Sergei Belyakov, then Russia’s deputy minister of economic development, in 2015.
“I need a favor,” Epstein wrote, according to the email, before asking for advice about a Russian woman he claimed was attempting to blackmail prominent New York businessmen.
Other emails suggest Epstein believed he had direct access to Russia’s highest levels of power, including Vladimir Putin.
The allegations revive long-standing questions about Epstein’s access to political elites, including former President Bill Clinton.
While no evidence has been publicly released proving blackmail of any specific leader, intelligence experts say the mere existence of kompromat can influence decision-making for decades.
Epstein’s alleged ties to Israel remain deeply contested.
Newly released documents claim a source told the FBI that Epstein had connections to former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, who later said he “deeply regretted” knowing Epstein.
Author Dylan Howard has argued Epstein acted primarily on behalf of Israel’s intelligence service, the Mossad.
Israel’s former prime minister Naftali Bennett has forcefully denied that claim.
“The accusation that Jeffrey Epstein worked for Israel or ran a blackmail ring for Mossad is categorically false,” Bennett said.
More than six years after Epstein’s death, the mystery surrounding his true role is far from resolved.
What is clear in 2026 is that Epstein’s network stretched far beyond abuse and finance — into intelligence, geopolitics, and global power.
And if Butler’s claims are correct, the most dangerous consequences of the Epstein operation may still be unfolding behind closed doors.
