Democrat’s Security Guard Killed by Police

A deadly SWAT standoff in Dallas has sparked major questions after authorities revealed that the armed fugitive killed by police had been working security for Democrat Rep. Jasmine Crockett.

The suspect, who allegedly built a fake law-enforcement persona while hiding a criminal past, was shot and killed by Dallas police Wednesday night after a tense standoff inside a hospital parking garage.

Law enforcement sources have now identified the man as 39-year-old Diamon-Mazairre Robinson.

For years, investigators say Robinson operated under the alias “Mike King,” presenting himself as a law-enforcement professional while running a business that connected police officers with off-duty security jobs across North Texas.

But behind the polished image was a long criminal record—and, according to sources, a growing federal investigation.

The dramatic confrontation unfolded late Wednesday when police tracked Robinson to a parking structure near a Dallas hospital.

Authorities say Robinson fled into the garage and barricaded himself inside a vehicle as SWAT teams surrounded the area.

Officers deployed tear gas in an attempt to force him out.

Police say Robinson eventually exited the vehicle armed with a handgun and pointed it toward officers.

SWAT officers opened fire.

Robinson was killed at the scene.

Investigators say he was already the target of a federal probe related to impersonating a law enforcement officer.

According to multiple law enforcement sources, Robinson spent years presenting himself as “Mike King,” a man he claimed was connected to federal law enforcement.

Officers who worked with him say he told people he was a detective with the U.S. Capitol Police.

“He made people believe he was legit,” one law enforcement source said. “He acted like he had federal credentials.”

Authorities believe that false claim may have been a key reason federal investigators began looking into Robinson.

But the alleged deception did not stop there.

Sources say Robinson drove what appeared to be an undercover police vehicle and even used license plates that investigators believe were stolen from cars parked outside a military recruiting office.

Robinson’s background reveals a troubling history that raises new concerns about how he managed to enter political security circles.

Court records show Robinson was arrested seven separate times between 2009 and 2012 on theft-related charges in Dallas, Duncanville, Irving and other North Texas jurisdictions.

The cases included both misdemeanor and felony charges.

Despite pleading guilty in multiple cases, Robinson received relatively light punishments. Court records show he was handed probation sentences ranging from one to ten years and fines that did not exceed $2,500.

Those cases largely faded from public view over time.

Investigators now believe Robinson used that window to reinvent himself under a new identity.

Perhaps the most startling revelation is Robinson’s connection to Rep. Jasmine Crockett.

Sources say Robinson, operating under the name Mike King, worked security for the Texas Democrat during public appearances and events.

Photos obtained by reporters show Robinson standing close to Crockett during campaign stops and other political events.

Sources say he was even involved in organizing security teams for locations in Dallas, including downtown hotels and his church.

Financial records obtained by reporters also show that a person using the name Mike King received payments for “security services” connected to Crockett’s operation as recently as last year.

One documented payment totaled $340, though the full scope of his earnings remains unclear.

Those revelations are now raising serious questions about vetting and security screening.

Robinson also built a lucrative business that placed officers into off-duty security work across North Texas.

Through his company, Off Duty Police Services, Robinson reportedly coordinated jobs for police officers at events, hotels and private venues.

Sources say the business had been advertising security work tied to upcoming FIFA World Cup matches scheduled for the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

The postings reportedly offered pay as high as $90 per hour.

Some officers who worked with Robinson told investigators they believed he had legitimate federal law-enforcement credentials.

“That’s how he gained trust,” a law enforcement source said. “He claimed he had connections.”

Despite the shocking revelations, officials have largely remained silent.

Staff for Rep. Crockett told reporters they are waiting for more information before responding to questions about Robinson’s role on her security team.

The Dallas Police Department has also declined to comment further about the investigation.

Officials with U.S. Capitol Police have not confirmed whether Robinson ever had any legitimate connection to the agency or whether he was subjected to background checks.

For many observers, the case raises serious concerns about security protocols around elected officials.

“When someone with a criminal past can reinvent himself, impersonate law enforcement, and end up providing security for a member of Congress, that’s a massive red flag,” one law enforcement expert said.

As investigators continue digging into Robinson’s activities, authorities say more details could emerge about how he managed to move through political and law-enforcement circles while allegedly living under a false identity.
