Iran Agrees to Trump’s Cease Fire Deal Sparking Praise

President Donald Trump’s ceasefire deal with Iran is already drawing support from key world leaders, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu making clear on Wednesday that he stands behind the president’s two-week plan to halt the violence.

The development marks another high-stakes moment on the world stage for Trump, who signaled in a Truth Social post that Iran is now prepared to move toward a peace agreement. He also suggested the United States would help oversee traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most critical shipping routes on the planet.

At the Pentagon, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth delivered a blunt and dramatic explanation for why Iran’s new regime suddenly agreed to terms. According to Hegseth, the answer was simple: they knew exactly what was coming if they said no.

He said Iran was given a choice between accepting Trump’s ceasefire terms or facing devastating strikes on the backbone of its economy. That included power plants, bridges, and vital oil and energy infrastructure that Hegseth said Tehran would have had no realistic way to defend or rebuild.

In his telling, Trump had the power to bring Iran to its knees within minutes, but chose restraint over destruction.

Hegseth argued that the ceasefire was not born out of goodwill from Tehran, but out of raw survival. He said the Iranian regime understood that refusing Trump’s terms would have led to consequences so severe they could have set the country back for decades.

And he did not stop there.

While speaking to reporters, Hegseth pointed to the stunning collapse of Iran’s previous leadership during Operation Epic Fury, listing one senior figure after another who had been wiped out. He described a regime stripped of its top commanders, advisors, intelligence chiefs, and military leadership, leaving the new government cornered and scrambling for a way out.

He even claimed Iran’s so-called new supreme leader had been left wounded and disfigured, painting a picture of a regime that had run out of time, options, and leverage.

That, Hegseth said, is why they cut the deal.

For Trump supporters, the moment is being seen as a clear display of strength-first diplomacy. Instead of dragging America into another endless foreign war, the president applied maximum pressure, forced Iran to the table, and secured a ceasefire without reducing the region to rubble.

With Netanyahu now voicing support and the White House projecting confidence, the agreement is being framed by allies as proof that peace through strength still works.

And in this case, they say, Iran got the message loud and clear.
