KFC Horror as BMW Smashes Into Restaurant Leaving 12 Injured

What should have been a routine stop for gas and dinner turned into chaos in Bangkok when a BMW suddenly plowed into a KFC inside a busy petrol station, leaving at least 12 people injured and sending customers and workers scrambling for safety.

The wild crash happened around 7:50 p.m. on April 25 at the Bangchak petrol station on Sukhumvit 62. When police and rescue crews arrived, they found a bronze-gray BMW sedan lodged inside the front of the restaurant after blasting through the glass entrance and tearing into the dining area.

According to local reports, the injured included customers, delivery riders, restaurant employees, and even the BMW driver. All were taken to nearby hospitals, though authorities said none of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening.

Police identified the driver as a 36-year-old Chinese national with the surname Chen. Investigators say the BMW had entered the station to refuel and was waiting in line before suddenly accelerating. Authorities believe the driver may have been trying to reach an open pump or attempt a U-turn when he lost control and barreled straight into the restaurant.

Before slamming into the KFC, the BMW also allegedly struck a cream-colored Toyota Camry that was waiting near the front of the station. Police said the Camry suffered damage to its left rear side.

Inside the restaurant, the destruction was severe. Glass panels were shattered, the service counter area was wrecked, and tables and chairs were tossed and broken in the impact. Witnesses said people sitting inside the KFC, along with staff members and delivery drivers standing near the counter, were hit as panic erupted across the packed station complex.

One KFC employee said staff were urgently called to the restaurant by the store manager after the crash. At first, workers reportedly assumed it was just a normal accident outside the building. They had no idea a vehicle had actually crashed through the storefront and injured multiple people inside.

Police are now questioning the driver and witnesses while reviewing surveillance footage to determine exactly what caused the violent wreck.
