Woman Learns ‘Dangerous Lesson’ After Walking Up to Massive Bison (Video)

A woman in Yellowstone National Park learned a painful lesson the hard way: bison are not props for your vacation video.

A viral clip making the rounds online shows the tourist getting far too close to a massive bison before the situation suddenly turns into a full-blown panic sprint.

The video, shared by the popular Instagram account @touronsofnationalparks, appears to show the woman standing near the enormous animal as other visitors watch from a safer distance.

Then, in a moment that had the internet howling, she tries to run away.

It did not go smoothly.

The woman appeared to stumble and faceplant while fleeing from the bison, creating the kind of chaotic national park footage that immediately goes viral.

The bison, meanwhile, seemed almost as confused as everyone watching.

The clip quickly drew a flood of comments from viewers who could not believe someone would willingly get that close to an animal known for its size, strength, and short temper.

“Survival skills of a French fry,” one commenter joked.

“Even the buffalo is confused,” another wrote.

A third cracked, “Help me Ranger Obi Wan, you’re my only hope.”

Bison may look calm from a distance, but they are powerful wild animals that can weigh hundreds of pounds and move with shocking speed when they feel threatened.

Park officials have repeatedly warned visitors to keep a safe distance from wildlife, especially bison, bears, elk, and other large animals that roam Yellowstone and other national parks.

Still, every year, videos surface showing tourists ignoring the rules, creeping too close, and then learning exactly why those warning signs exist.

This latest clip is another reminder that Yellowstone is not a petting zoo.

It is a wild place filled with wild animals.

And when a massive bison decides you are too close, the best-case scenario may be an embarrassing faceplant instead of something much worse.
