Pelosi Leads Democrats’ Baseball Loss Against GOP for Sixth Straight Years

Nancy Pelosi may have watched Democrats get crushed on the baseball field, but the former House Speaker insisted her party is still eyeing a much bigger prize in November.

Pelosi was spotted at the Congressional Baseball Game, where Republicans handed Democrats another bruising defeat, winning 11-2 and notching their sixth straight victory in the annual Capitol Hill matchup.

But Pelosi, who is preparing to retire from Congress in January, brushed off the lopsided scoreboard and tried to shift attention to the ballot box instead.

Speaking with TMZ DC during what is expected to be her final Congressional Baseball Game, Pelosi said Democrats are focused on the upcoming midterm elections and suggested her party could still pull off a win where it really counts.

The longtime California Democrat appeared relaxed and chatty during the game, talking politics, ballpark food and why she sees herself more as a coach than an athlete.

Republicans, however, had plenty to celebrate on the field. Their 11-2 blowout marked another dominant showing in the yearly game, giving the GOP bragging rights at a time when both parties are already gearing up for a brutal midterm fight.

Pelosi’s message was clear: Democrats may have lost badly under the stadium lights, but she believes the real contest is still ahead.

Whether voters agree is another question.

For now, Republicans walked away with the trophy, the momentum and another win over their Democratic rivals — while Pelosi tried to keep her party’s eyes on November.
