Biden Calls Trump a ‘Loser’ at Democratic Party Gala

Joe Biden took a swing at President Donald Trump on Saturday night, calling him a “loser” while mocking the ongoing makeover of the White House Reflecting Pool.

The former president made the jab during a fiery speech at the Maryland Democratic Party Gala, where he accused Trump of being more interested in vanity projects than running the country.

“It’s not just his vanity projects,” Biden told the crowd. “Putting his name on the Kennedy Center. Building an arch in his own honor. Even hiring his own pool guy to fix the Reflecting Pool. Whoa, what a loser.”

The line drew cheers from the Democratic audience, but it also marked one of Biden’s sharpest public attacks on Trump since leaving office.

Biden then tried to turn the Reflecting Pool controversy into a broader attack on the Trump administration.

“The Reflecting Pool reflects something even worse than the narcissism and incompetence at the core of this administration,” Biden said. “It’s the corruption. The brazen, blatant corruption. Corruption on a scale never seen before in American history in any administration.”

The attack comes as the White House Reflecting Pool has already become a strange political flashpoint.

The landmark has been undergoing a facelift, but the project has faced its share of headaches. Reports have surfaced about alleged vandalism to the pool’s lining, algae problems in the water and dead ducks being found in and around the area.

Hydrogen peroxide was reportedly dumped into the pool to deal with the algae issue, while a fence was also put up around the site to protect the area during the work.

For Trump critics, the project has become a symbol of what they see as the president’s obsession with branding and image. For Trump supporters, Biden’s attack may look like another example of Democrats trying to turn even routine White House upkeep into a political scandal.

Either way, Biden’s “loser” insult shows the nasty feud between the two presidents is nowhere near cooling down.

The Reflecting Pool, normally one of Washington’s most peaceful landmarks, has now been dragged straight into America’s never-ending political war.

The White House has reportedly been contacted for comment, but so far has not responded.
