Death Investigation Rocks Far-Left Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley

A death investigation is underway in Boston after a body was found Saturday at a rental property owned by the husband of Rep. Ayanna Pressley, the far-left Massachusetts Democrat and high-profile member of the progressive “Squad.”

Boston police were called to the two-unit home on Malta Street in the city’s Mattapan neighborhood shortly before 2 p.m. on Saturday after receiving what officials described as an “investigate person” call, according to the Boston Police Department.

When officers arrived, they discovered a dead body at the property, police confirmed.

Authorities have described the case as a “death investigation,” Boston police spokesperson Sergeant Detective John Boyle told the Boston Globe. Homicide detectives are now involved, though officials have not publicly released the identity of the person found dead or said whether foul play is suspected.

Property records obtained by The Post show the seven-bedroom residence is owned by Pressley’s husband, Conan Harris. The property was valued this year at more than $919,000, according to the Globe.

The discovery has drawn attention not only because of Pressley’s national profile, but also because the home reportedly had recent police activity. A neighbor who identified herself as Cherill told the Globe that Boston police raided the property about two months ago.

Cherill, who said she has lived in the area for 10 years, told the paper there were tenants living on each floor at the time of that raid, including high-school-aged teenagers. Aside from that incident, she described the Mattapan street as relatively quiet.

It remains unclear whether anyone was living in the home when the body was found Saturday. The property had reportedly been listed for sale about a month earlier.

Realtor Chloe Turner, who is handling the sale of the two-unit property, told the Globe that the same tenants had been living there for “a while,” but said she did not have any details about what happened over the weekend.

Records previously reported by The Post showed the property brought in between $50,000 and $100,000 in rent last year for Pressley and Harris.

“The Congresswoman extends her deepest condolences to the impacted family,” a spokesperson for Pressley said in a statement to The Post on Saturday night.

Pressley, 52, has long positioned herself as a champion of renters and progressive housing policies. She once camped out on the steps of the U.S. Capitol to push for taxpayer-funded rent relief, a moment that helped cement her standing with the Democratic Party’s activist wing.

But Republicans have repeatedly accused the Massachusetts congresswoman of hypocrisy over her personal finances and real estate interests. Last year, Pressley and fellow “Squad” member Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota drew scrutiny after financial disclosures showed Pressley had joined the millionaire ranks, listing as much as $8 million in assets.

Republican National Committee spokesperson Kiersten Pels previously blasted Pressley to The Post, saying, “Pressley is a hypocrite who preaches socialism while pocketing millions.”

Harris, 49, has also faced public scrutiny over his past. He previously served 10 years in prison for drug trafficking before later becoming involved in politics and community work.

For now, police have not connected Pressley or Harris to any wrongdoing in the death investigation, and officials have released few details about what led to the discovery at the Mattapan property.

The investigation remains ongoing.
