Vanessa Trump is celebrating a life-changing victory after revealing she is cancer-free following months of treatment for breast cancer.
The 48-year-old mother of five shared the emotional news in a video posted by her daughter, Kai Trump, on Friday, October 23, six months after receiving her diagnosis. The announcement marked a major turning point in a difficult health journey that Vanessa says began with symptoms she initially brushed aside.
“My most recent test results came back clear, so I’m finally cancer-free,” Vanessa revealed.
The announcement prompted an affectionate hug from 19-year-old Kai, who sat beside her mother during the conversation.
Vanessa, the former wife of Donald Trump Jr. and current girlfriend of golf legend Tiger Woods, was diagnosed with breast cancer in April. She publicly revealed the diagnosis on May 20, explaining that she was working with doctors to determine her treatment plan.
Now, she’s opening up about just how frightening the experience became.
During a longer interview posted to Kai’s YouTube channel, Vanessa revealed that she experienced persistent arm pain for approximately four to six months before discovering a small lump in her left breast. She initially believed the discomfort was related to a strained tendon, even though the pain sometimes woke her at night.
After noticing the lump, however, Vanessa immediately sought medical attention. A mammogram and ultrasound led doctors to recommend a biopsy, which confirmed her fears.
“I was in complete shock,” she recalled.
The diagnosis led to surgery, including a lumpectomy and the removal of four lymph nodes, which she said tested clear. Vanessa subsequently underwent radiation treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Florida.
Although her latest MRI showed no evidence of cancer, Vanessa explained that her medical journey is not entirely over. She expects to continue taking medication for several years while undergoing regular follow-up examinations and imaging.
Her recovery has also brought her family together for an emotional celebration.
In photos shared on Sunday, October 25, Vanessa appeared alongside Woods and two of her children in front of a “Congratulations” banner near a ceremonial bell associated with cancer treatment milestones.
The images offered a rare glimpse of Woods supporting Vanessa during one of the most meaningful moments of her recovery.
Reflecting on her experience, Vanessa described the past several months as a long and challenging journey while expressing gratitude for the family members, friends and medical professionals who supported her.
The former model also hopes her experience will encourage other women to pay closer attention to their health.
Her interview with Kai and radiologist Dr. Nicole Saphier was released during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with the three discussing breast cancer symptoms, treatment and the importance of early detection.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, mammograms can help detect breast cancer before symptoms develop. Federal screening guidelines recommend mammograms every two years for women ages 40 through 74 who are at average risk.
For Vanessa, the message is deeply personal. After months of uncertainty, surgery and treatment, she hopes sharing her story will encourage others to schedule screenings and seek medical advice when something doesn’t feel right.
Her cancer-free announcement is an encouraging milestone, even as she continues the medical monitoring that follows breast cancer treatment.
