Vice President Kamala Harris once again targeted Donald Trump on Wednesday, responding to statements attributed to his former chief of staff, John Kelly, that painted a troubling picture of Trump’s leadership.
According to reports from The Atlantic and The New York Times, Kelly accused Trump of showing admiration for Nazi generals and even likening his desire for a loyal military to that of Adolf Hitler’s.
Harris wasted no time condemning these alleged comments. “It is deeply troubling and incredibly dangerous that Donald Trump would invoke Adolf Hitler, the man responsible for the deaths of 6 million Jews and hundreds of thousands of Americans,” she said.
This isn’t the first time Trump has been accused of having authoritarian tendencies, and the vice president has ramped up her rhetoric on the campaign trail. Harris, and many in her party, want to paint the upcoming election as a referendum on democracy itself, casting Trump as a threat to its very foundations.
But it’s worth asking: how accurate is this portrayal? Trump has long pushed back against claims that he’s anything close to a dictator. Throughout his first term, he faced criticism not only from Democrats but from several high-profile Republicans.
However, many of his policies—such as his focus on border security, tax cuts, and deregulation—were widely praised by conservatives and achieved key Republican goals. Some argue that accusations of authoritarianism are overstated and politically motivated.
Harris’ comments that Trump’s hypothetical second term would be full of “yes-men” ignores the reality that Trump’s cabinet during his presidency included several respected figures, including Kelly, James Mattis, and Mike Pompeo—hardly rubber stamps for Trump’s policies.
In fact, Trump often clashed with his top advisers. However, the argument that Trump might seek to consolidate power by surrounding himself with loyalists isn’t new, and it’s likely to be a key theme in Democratic messaging as the election nears.
Harris also implied that Trump views anyone who disagrees with him, including judges, journalists, and election officials, as part of an “enemy within.” This line, while compelling, risks ignoring the larger debate about the role of the media and judiciary in our society, particularly given Trump’s long-standing grievances with what he calls a biased press.
In just a few weeks, Americans will decide whether to give Trump another four years or to turn the page. Harris put the question bluntly: “We know what Donald Trump wants. He wants unchecked power. The question in 13 days will be, what do the American people want?”
This frames the election as a stark choice, but the American electorate will ultimately decide whether Trump’s leadership style is a feature or a flaw.
What remains clear is that Trump’s influence in the Republican Party continues to grow, and his base remains loyal. Republicans argue that under Trump, America saw economic growth, stronger border policies, and a firmer stance on international trade.
In the end, it may come down to whether voters believe Trump’s vision for America aligns with theirs—or whether they believe the rhetoric coming from his political opponents.

Donald Trump is not an advocate for anything that detracts from our nation’s heritage and proved that during his Administration. “MAGA” advocates the return of our heritage and what it brought to the American citizen and their fledgling nation. K Harris advocates “murder in the first degree” by her loudly stated advocacy of the role Planned Parenthood plays in the death of the unborn! Today’s Planned Parenthood has no resemblence to its’ orginal mission and is an affront to it! Seems all she has is the art of attacking #45. It’s not going to work; one she still has not let anyone know what her policies are going to be except forcing Christians to do abortions regardless of their religious beliefs. She did an interview and like someone who is cold and uncaring stated that abortions in her administration would be applied to everyone regardless of religious beliefs. It seemed that she was acting like the Covid-19 debacle, forcing Americans regardless to do what they said we must do for our own good. We all know how that turned out, they pissed on our constitution and our bill of rights.

So, she has no experience, no plan, no policy (foreign or domestic), and so far all I have heard from her is her OPINIONS of Trump and her fortune teller views of what Trump will do if elected.
And she calls Trump a dictator. This coming from someone who wants to compel everyone, no matter their religious beliefs, to have abortions. As a California. who lived during Harris’s regime as AG, I know all about how Harris plans to rule if she is elected (or installed). She has nothing but contempt for the rule of law, and has no problem sidestepping it for her own gain and power. So who is the dictator again?
