Democrat Strategists Are Begging Kamala Not to do This

Vice President Kamala Harris is reportedly keeping her political ambitions alive, telling close allies she plans to stay in the fight for public office. Sources suggest she is considering a 2028 presidential campaign or a run for California governor in 2026. While Harris’ determination underscores her resilience, her potential candidacy is already sparking controversy within Democratic circles.

In an interview on Newsmax’s National Report, Democratic strategist Theryn Bond bluntly advised against a Harris presidential bid. “Not to run for president again in 2028, please don’t,” Bond said, expressing doubt about Harris’ viability on the national stage. She added, “If she is relying on those same advisers that advised her this cycle, that’s not who I would listen to.”

Bond’s comments come after Harris suffered a decisive loss to President-elect Donald Trump in the 2024 election, despite raising nearly $1 billion in campaign funds. The campaign reportedly ended with a debt of $20 million. Republican strategist Luke Ball echoed Bond’s skepticism, suggesting Harris’ best shot might be at a state-level position. “I think she might have a hand up in California because that’s one of the only states where she might actually have an edge,” Ball remarked. “Anywhere else in the country, I don’t think she’d be able to get elected to dog catcher.”

The criticism isn’t just about Harris’ electoral prospects but also her campaign’s financial management. Ball lambasted the DNC for prioritizing spending on celebrity endorsements over grassroots efforts. “If I’m a donor, I’m wondering why can’t we give that money to staff members instead of spending millions on astroturfing the campaign,” he said.

Harris, the first female vice president and a former California attorney general, has a mixed track record in electoral politics. While she boasts high name recognition and a base of support in her home state, her national campaigns have faced persistent challenges. Her 2020 presidential bid ended before the first primaries, and her vice-presidential tenure has been marked by mixed reviews.

Adding to the controversy, former President Donald Trump mocked Harris’ financial struggles in a post on X, saying, “I am very surprised that the Democrats… didn’t have lots of $’s left over.” The jab highlighted the stark contrast between Harris’ massive campaign expenditures and Trump’s cost-effective use of “earned media.”

Despite the criticism, Harris remains undeterred. In conversations with advisers, she has reportedly reiterated her commitment to public service, repeating the phrase, “I’m staying in the fight.” Whether that fight will culminate in another run for the presidency or a return to California politics remains to be seen. However, as strategists within her party urge a reevaluation of leadership and campaign strategy, Harris faces an uphill battle to secure her political future.
