Was Pelosi Afraid of American Hospitals?

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, 84, successfully underwent hip replacement surgery after sustaining an injury during an official trip to Luxembourg. Pelosi was part of a bipartisan Congressional delegation commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge when she reportedly fell down a flight of stairs.

“Earlier this morning, Speaker Emerita Pelosi underwent a successful hip replacement and is well on the mend,” her spokesperson, Ian Krager, confirmed in a statement. He expressed Pelosi’s gratitude to the U.S. military medical staff at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany and the team at Hospital Kirchberg in Luxembourg for their exceptional care.

The injury occurred during an official engagement, and Pelosi was initially hospitalized in Luxembourg for evaluation before being transported via Defense Department medevac to Landstuhl. While her office has not disclosed the exact nature of the injury, sources close to the matter indicated she injured her left leg in the fall.

Despite her injury, Pelosi expressed her deep regret at being unable to attend the remaining events of the delegation. In a statement, she conveyed her admiration for American servicemembers and the courage displayed during World War II, particularly at the Battle of the Bulge.

“Speaker Emerita Pelosi conveys her thanks and praise to our veterans and gratitude to the people of Luxembourg and Bastogne for their service in World War II and their role in bringing peace to Europe,” her spokesperson added. Pelosi also reflected on her family’s personal connection to the war, noting that her uncle Johnny served during that time.

Pelosi’s fall comes amid heightened attention on the health of senior political figures. Just days earlier, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, 82, suffered a minor injury after tripping following a lunch meeting. McConnell sustained a cut to his face and a sprained wrist but was cleared to resume his schedule.

This is not the first health concern for McConnell, who has faced several medical issues in recent years. Earlier this year, he reaffirmed his commitment to serving in the Senate, despite stepping down as Senate GOP leader. McConnell has remained vocal about countering isolationist trends within his party and supporting international allies such as Ukraine.

Both incidents highlight the increasing scrutiny on the physical fitness of aging political leaders, especially as they navigate the demanding responsibilities of their roles. Pelosi, however, is reportedly recovering well and looks forward to returning to the United States soon.

  1. Where is her liver spots on her hands, arms, and under the make up on her face? Perhaps her God finally smited her down for being so evil, pushing abortions, and going against her Church leaders policies and edicts. Now would be a good time for her to, if she can do it, gracefully bow out of the political arena and retire quietly to her home in California.

  2. She should be, specially since she was part of putting the Covid vaccinations and supporting them. You guys can keep her over there. Thanks

  3. Of course she waited to have surgery and recovery in Europe . She can spend more taxpayer money over there . She’s also closer to a good supply of booze not to mention gourmet ice cream
