House GOP panel calls for Liz Cheney to be investigated 

The House Republican-led panel just dropped a political bombshell, calling for a criminal investigation into none other than former Rep. Liz Cheney. Her crime? Alleged “witness tampering” with star witness Cassidy Hutchinson while leading the now-defunct January 6th Committee.

Here’s the backstory: Hutchinson, a White House aide during Trump’s presidency, gave explosive testimony back in June 2022, accusing Trump of lunging for the steering wheel of his vehicle on January 6th. It was the story the media ate up. But guess what? That tale, and much of Hutchinson’s testimony, later unraveled under scrutiny. Photos showed she misidentified the vehicle, and Secret Service agents flat-out denied the incident ever happened.

Now we’re learning that Cheney secretly communicated with Hutchinson outside the view of her legal counsel—using the encrypted Signal app. That’s right. Private calls. Off-the-record chats. The kind of behavior that raises serious red flags. The GOP oversight subcommittee says Cheney’s actions may have violated federal witness tampering laws—a direct threat to the integrity of any investigation.

In its report, the committee didn’t mince words: “Such action is outside the due functioning of the legislative process.” In other words, Cheney might’ve crossed a legal line while building a case against Trump.

Think about it. This was a former member of Congress allegedly tampering with a witness in one of the most high-stakes political investigations in modern history.
