Biden Finally Speaks Out About Drones

President Joe Biden has finally addressed the growing alarm over a surge of mysterious drone sightings in the skies over New Jersey and New York. Despite public outcry and mounting pressure from lawmakers, Biden assured reporters at the White House that the drones pose no threat.

“Nothing nefarious apparently, but they’re checking it all out,” the 82-year-old president stated on Tuesday. He added, “We’re following this closely, but so far no sense of danger.”

Biden floated a potential explanation for the sightings, suggesting that “copycat” drone operators might be at play. “There’s a lot of drones authorized up there,” he said. “I think one started it, and everybody wanted to get in on the deal.”

Federal Agencies Downplay Concerns

Biden’s comments align with a joint statement released Monday by the FBI, FAA, Pentagon, and Department of Homeland Security. The agencies dismissed fears of malicious activity, attributing the sightings to a mix of lawful commercial drones, hobbyist devices, law enforcement operations, and even stars mistakenly identified as drones.

The statement revealed that since the first reports on November 18, federal agencies have received over 5,000 tips, of which only about 100 merited further investigation.

Lawmakers and Experts Demand Answers

Despite these assurances, skepticism remains high. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) called for the deployment of newly declassified radar technology to pinpoint the source of the drones. New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy announced over the weekend that drone-detecting devices had been deployed in the state.

Some lawmakers have raised more alarming theories. Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ) speculated that the drones could be linked to foreign actors, even suggesting the possibility of an Iranian “mothership.” However, the Pentagon has firmly denied that the drones are of foreign or adversarial origin.

Former Maryland Governor Larry Hogan added fuel to the fire by posting a video of large drones circling above his suburban DC home, while public sightings in areas like Somerset and Morris counties in New Jersey continue to flood social media.

Trump Accuses Biden of a Cover-Up

President-elect Donald Trump wasted no time weighing in, accusing the Biden administration of withholding the truth about the drones’ origins. “The government knows what is happening,” Trump said Monday. “Our military knows where they took off from—if it’s a garage, they can go right into that garage. They know where it came from and where it went.”

Trump added, “And for some reason, they don’t want to comment. I think they’d be better off saying what it is. Our military knows, and our president knows. And for some reason, they want to keep people in suspense.”

Growing Public Concern

The drone mystery began making headlines after a medical helicopter was forced to divert its flight path in New Jersey due to a drone in its vicinity. Since then, sightings have ranged from urban Manhattan to the Atlantic coastline. Videos posted online show drones hovering over neighborhoods, beaches, and highways, with some residents claiming to see them flying in coordinated patterns.

While the government insists there is no cause for alarm, the lack of concrete answers has only deepened public unease. As Biden attempts to downplay the situation, pressure mounts on federal agencies to provide clarity—or risk fueling further speculation about what’s really behind the mysterious objects in the sky.
