The former mayor, best remembered for his failed presidential run and contentious policies that reshaped (and some argue, wrecked) New York City, confirmed the romance in a text message to The Post, complete with a red heart emoji.

“Nomi and I have started a really lovely relationship, just in time for Valentine’s Day. We’ve known each other for a long time and are very kindred souls,” de Blasio wrote. He added that they planned to “cuddle up and watch romantic movies and drink Greek wine, in honor of Nomi’s heritage.”

Who Is Nomiki Konst?

Konst, a self-proclaimed progressive firebrand, has made her career in left-wing media. She was a political analyst on The Young Turks, an online news platform known for its extreme liberal takes. She once interviewed de Blasio and his then-wife, Chirlane McCray, for the show’s YouTube channel, making her recent romance with him all the more ironic.

Her political career has been checkered with ambitious starts but few victories. In 2012, she briefly attempted a run for Arizona’s 2nd congressional district before bowing out. She later resurfaced in Bernie Sanders’ 2016 campaign as a national surrogate and served on the Democratic National Convention’s platform committee. While these roles gave her a presence in Democratic circles, they failed to translate into electoral success.

De Blasio’s Love Life Under the Microscope

De Blasio’s personal life has been a topic of speculation since he and McCray announced their separation in 2023—without plans for divorce. Despite their split, they continued to be spotted together at high-profile events, leaving some questioning the true nature of their relationship.
