Disney’s latest move has conservatives seeing red — and not because of a poisoned apple. The entertainment giant has once again stirred up America’s culture war, this time by erasing a beloved piece of film history from its live-action remake of Snow White.
Gone is the iconic 1937 ballad “Someday My Prince Will Come.” In its place? A new original song called “Waiting for a Wish,” which features lyrics about self-reliance and rejecting traditional love stories — all sung by 23-year-old actress Rachel Zegler, who has long been a lightning rod for controversy.
“This is Disney’s latest attack on classic American storytelling,” said Brian Ference, host of the MAGAMind podcast. “They didn’t just cut a song. They cut tradition. They cut values. They cut what made Snow White a fairytale in the first place.”
According to Disney insiders, the studio deliberately eliminated the Prince character altogether — and Zegler herself has confirmed that romance has been stripped from the plot.
“She’s not going to be saved by the prince,” Zegler said in a 2022 interview. “She’s dreaming about becoming the leader her late father believed she could be — fearless, fair, brave, and true.”
The move is being framed as “empowering” by Hollywood circles, but conservatives aren’t buying it.
“This isn’t empowering. It’s cultural vandalism,” said conservative commentator Jack Posobiec during Thursday’s episode of Human Events Daily. “Disney has CUT ‘Someday My Prince Will Come’ from the new Snow White because they’re allergic to tradition. They want to rewrite our stories to match their ideology.”
The new song “Waiting for a Wish” includes lyrics like:
“Can I somehow, some way learn to be my father’s daughter?… Someone no one needs to save.”
Critics say it’s another example of Disney’s push for feminist messaging over timeless charm.
“Disney used to be about magic. Now it’s about messaging,” said Angela D., a mother of three from Texas. “My daughters loved the original Snow White. We won’t be seeing this one.”
Social media lit up with similar outrage:
“The left destroys everything they touch,” one user posted on X (formerly Twitter).
“Woke Disney continues its descent. Another classic ruined,” said another.
This isn’t the first time Disney has come under fire. From The Little Mermaid remake to Peter Pan & Wendy, conservatives have repeatedly accused the studio of prioritizing progressive politics over family storytelling.
In the case of Snow White, even the seven dwarfs have sparked backlash. Instead of traditional dwarfs, the film features a diverse group of CGI-generated companions — a move critics call bizarre and disrespectful to the original film’s legacy.
“If Walt Disney could see this, he’d shut the whole studio down,” Ference said. “There’s a reason these stories lasted nearly a century. And there’s a reason this version will flop.”
Despite the controversy, Disney is pushing ahead with the film’s global rollout. But early buzz suggests it may face a cold reception — especially among traditional American families.
“They think they’re winning hearts by rewriting our fairytales,” Posobiec said. “But all they’re doing is writing their own downfall.”
As one online commenter put it:
“Snow White doesn’t need saving? Maybe not. But Disney sure does.”
