In a revelation straight out of an Indiana Jones movie, recently resurfaced CIA documents suggest the U.S. government may have confirmed the existence of the Ark of the Covenant — not through archaeology, but through psychic espionage.
According to a declassified file from December 1988, a CIA-backed remote viewing session described the legendary biblical artifact as hidden deep beneath the earth in the Middle East, guarded by powerful “entities” and containing ancient spiritual knowledge far beyond modern understanding.
The report, long forgotten in the dusty vaults of bureaucracy, was officially declassified in 2000. But only recently has it caught fire online, with believers and skeptics alike wondering: did the CIA stumble upon one of the holiest objects in history using nothing but psychic vision?
Psychic Spies and Biblical Secrets
The mission began with a single envelope.
Inside was a slip of paper containing the secret target: the Ark of the Covenant, said to carry the stone tablets of the Ten Commandments given to Moses on Mount Sinai. The envelope was handed to an anonymous psychic, known only as “Remote Viewer #32,” who had no knowledge of what he was looking for.
What he described was stunning.
“A container within a container… gold, wood, and silver. Decorated with seraphim. Hidden underground. Surrounded by mosque domes,” the viewer reported. “It is dark. Wet. Protected. It brings people together. It’s about memory, ceremony, resurrection.”
But it didn’t stop there.
“The object is protected by entities,” the report states. “It cannot be opened unless the time is right — and those who try to force it open are destroyed by a power unknown to us.”
A Warning From the Past?
The description of supernatural protection isn’t new. The Bible itself warns of deadly consequences for touching the Ark without permission. And in modern times, those stories have become the stuff of legends — and Hollywood blockbusters.
But this is no movie script. These claims came directly from a CIA-funded remote viewing experiment at the height of the Cold War.
“This container will not/cannot be opened until the time is deemed correct,” the document warns. “Any individual attempting to force the container open is destroyed by its protectors.”
Included in the file are eerie sketches — depictions of angelic beings, possible mummies, and the Ark itself.
Even the Experts Are Divided
Joe McMoneagle, the CIA’s original remote viewer and a decorated Army intelligence officer, isn’t buying it.
“This was a training target,” McMoneagle told The New York Post. “It was done on a whim. There was no effort to verify the material. It’s a waste of time.”
A legend in his own right, McMoneagle earned the Legion of Merit after helping uncover a secret Soviet warship during the Cold War using only psychic data. But even he draws the line at ancient religious relics.
“If someone claims remote viewing proves the Ark is real, they need to produce the Ark,” he said bluntly.
Still Just a Myth? Or Government-Backed Fact?
For centuries, theologians and treasure hunters have searched for the Ark, believed by some to be hidden in Ethiopia, or buried beneath the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Now, thanks to this declassified CIA file, the debate is heating up again.
Was this just another Cold War-era experiment in fringe science? Or a forgotten discovery with consequences far beyond politics?
One thing is clear — the government took it seriously enough to fund and file it. And if the Ark really is buried beneath Middle Eastern sands, guarded by entities and waiting to be opened at the “right time,” the implications are enormous.
Whether it’s national security or divine destiny, the truth may still be out there — locked inside a container no one dares touch.

The CIA has been watching to many movies!
Ron Wyatt discovered the Ark of the Covenant in Israel, located directly beneath the spot where Jesus was crucified. It remains there to this day where the Lord told Wyatt it will remain until He decides when the time is right for it to be brought out. He means business. Shortly after the discovery, a group of men entered the tunnel to retrieve the Ark…and they died trying to bring it out.
