David Hogg Melts Down as DNC Moves to Oust Him in Party Power Play

Young liberal firebrand David Hogg is learning the hard way: the Democratic Party eats its own.

The 25-year-old Parkland activist turned progressive operative is now lashing out at the Democratic National Committee after a bombshell vote advanced efforts to strip him of his vice-chair role—just three months after he took the job.

Hogg, who stirred outrage among establishment Democrats by threatening to bankroll primary challenges against sitting incumbents, called the DNC’s move a “fast-track effort” to boot him from power.

“This was never about procedure,” Hogg fumed in a statement. “This was about silencing a new generation of leadership that dares to challenge the party elite.”

A complaint filed by activist Kalyn Free argued the flawed vote unfairly impacted three women of color—and broke party bylaws that require gender-balanced leadership.

But timing is everything.

Just weeks ago, Hogg made enemies inside his own party by announcing his PAC, Leaders We Deserve, would spend up to $20 million to challenge senior Democrats in deep-blue districts. It was a rare act of civil war within a party already bruised from losing the White House to Donald Trump last November.

“Hogg showed up to the party with a torch,” one DNC official quipped. “And now he’s shocked the curtains are catching fire.”

Kenyatta Throws Cold Water on Hogg’s Victim Act

Hogg’s fellow vice chair Malcolm Kenyatta isn’t buying the drama.
