Prince Harry Claims He was Named in Diddy Case as ‘Revenge’

Prince Harry is once again playing the victim—this time over his name appearing in the sex trafficking lawsuit against music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs.

According to newly released court documents, Harry claims that The Sun—a Rupert Murdoch-owned newspaper—intentionally named him in its explosive 2024 front-page coverage of the Diddy case as “revenge” for his ongoing legal battles with the paper over phone hacking and invasion of privacy.

The headline at the time read: “Harry named in P Diddy sex traffic case.” The article referenced bombshell legal filings by former Diddy associate Rodney Jones, who claimed that Prince Harry’s name had been used to lend “legitimacy” to wild celebrity parties where illegal activities allegedly took place. The article did mention, deep into the story, that Harry was not accused of wrongdoing. Still, Harry says the damage was done.

In his lawsuit, the prince says The Sun has launched a long-running smear campaign against him, painting him as a liar, a traitor to his country, and someone who betrayed his family. He now alleges that this latest headline was just another hit job by the British tabloid—part of what he calls a broader pattern of retaliation for exposing the paper’s unethical behavior.

The real kicker? Harry’s legal team claims the strain from The Sun’s reporting helped drive him and Meghan out of the royal family and into exile in North America. According to Harry, it’s all taken a toll on his mental health—and that of his wife and kids.

The paper has denied any vendetta, saying their coverage of Harry is justified because of “the role he holds and the actions he has taken.”

Critics, however, aren’t buying Harry’s latest outrage. Many see it as yet another example of the prince refusing to take responsibility for his own associations and choices. After all, this is the same man who was once photographed palling around with Diddy and Kanye West at a concert honoring Princess Diana.

Maybe instead of pointing fingers at the press, Harry should be asking why his name even showed up in the lawsuit to begin with.
