Washington, D.C. – May 19, 2025 — A bombshell revelation about Joe Biden’s health has ignited a firestorm in Washington, raising sharp questions about what the former president knew — and when he knew it.
Over the weekend, Biden’s office disclosed that the 82-year-old has been diagnosed with advanced metastatic prostate cancer. The disease has already spread to his bones, and doctors have assigned it a Gleason score of 9 — one of the highest grades for aggressive prostate cancer.
But was this something Biden only recently learned about? Or has he known — and hidden it — for months, maybe years?
According to Dr. David Shusterman, a New York-based urologist, the cancer’s development timeline doesn’t match up with a recent discovery.
“This is not a fast-moving cancer,” Shusterman told NewsNation Prime. “It typically takes years to get to this stage. For someone receiving presidential-level medical care, it’s highly unusual for it to go unnoticed this long.”
He compared Biden’s diagnosis to cases often seen at underfunded veterans hospitals, where patients go undiagnosed for years. “You don’t just suddenly show up with bone pain and discover a Gleason 9 out of nowhere,” he added.
Timing Sparks Suspicion
The announcement came just days before the release of a controversial new book that reportedly questions Biden’s mental state during his final months in office — a coincidence that hasn’t gone unnoticed.
NewsNation host Leland Vittert called the timing “curious” and raised the possibility that key medical details were withheld from the public.
“In Washington, the real story is always the cover-up,” Vittert said on air. “If the White House knew about this before the 2024 election or even during his last year in office, and said nothing — that’s deception of the highest order.”
Vittert went even further, suggesting that the public might have been misled. “We have to ask if this was gross medical negligence or a deliberate decision to hide serious health concerns from voters during a reelection campaign.”
Biden abruptly withdrew from the 2024 race after a disastrous debate performance against President Donald Trump, triggering speculation about his mental and physical fitness. The cancer diagnosis only adds fuel to those flames.
GOP Lawmaker Urges Restraint
Not everyone is jumping to conclusions. Rep. Greg Murphy (R-N.C.), a practicing urologist, cautioned against politicizing the news.
“There’s a lot we still don’t know,” Murphy said in an interview. “You can have aggressive cancer without sky-high PSA levels. If a rectal exam wasn’t done or imaging wasn’t pursued aggressively, it might have gone undetected.”
He acknowledged that metastatic prostate cancer can sometimes be silent until late stages. “It’s possible Biden didn’t know. But it’s also possible signs were missed or ignored.”
Murphy said he’s treated patients who lived more than a decade with the disease, and others who passed away within a year. “It depends entirely on how well he responds to hormone therapy,” he noted.
Former Staffers Push Back on Criticism
Two former Obama administration officials — Joel Rubin and Jarrod Bernstein — came to Biden’s defense, urging Americans to focus on the human story rather than political speculation.
“Whatever you think about how he left office, Joe Biden is an honorable man,” Bernstein said. “He served this country for 50 years. Now he’s fighting cancer. Let’s give him some respect.”
Rubin added that even President Trump’s team issued a statement wishing Biden well. “Health isn’t political. It’s part of being human.”
What’s Next?
Biden’s team says he’ll undergo hormone therapy, one of the few options left for treating prostate cancer once it has spread to the bones. No surgery is expected. The prognosis remains uncertain, and experts agree that public curiosity will only intensify in the weeks ahead.
But for now, the central question remains unanswered:
Did the White House know about Biden’s cancer long before they told the American people? Or is this just a tragic late-stage diagnosis?
As the political and medical fallout grows, that question may define Biden’s legacy more than any policy ever did.

Of course he kept it secret. The president has the best health care on earth, and I can guarantee he knew about it.
The article lies. It is a fast growing cancer, and can develop without obvious signs. I was diagnosed with cancer last year, and it was well developed with no signs. Fortunately, it was discovered in time to save my life. We hope for the best for a President that served the people not in it to make money like the orange monkey.
ABSOLUTELY.
