Jason Kelce Slammed for Patriotic July 4th Post

NFL great Jason Kelce is catching heat from the online mob after posting a heartfelt Fourth of July tribute—just hours after President Donald Trump signed what he’s calling a “big, beautiful bill” designed to put America first.

The Philadelphia Eagles legend took to Instagram on Independence Day with what many would see as a unifying message.

“Man I love the 4th! One of the great days we all can set aside our differences in this country, and enjoy the one thing we all share in common. That we are American! Cheers to you oh beautiful America,” Kelce wrote, alongside a clip of fireworks lighting up the sky.

But not everyone was in a celebratory mood—especially liberal activists and Biden holdouts still bitter about the 2024 election. Kelce’s message of unity was instantly hijacked by thousands of angry comments, many accusing him of being “tone deaf” or “out of touch” because it followed President Trump’s announcement of the $3.3 trillion America First Recovery Bill.

The backlash, largely coming from progressive circles on social media, painted Kelce’s apolitical message as some sort of endorsement of Trump’s sweeping economic package.

“Set aside differences? One party wants to feed children. The other wants to feed brown people to alligators,” read one unhinged reply.

“Unfortunately Jason this is not real life for many. They signed the worst bill for so many Americans today just to rub it in our faces,” claimed another user—ignoring the bill’s bipartisan support for veterans, small businesses, and infrastructure renewal.

Critics called the post “tone deaf,” despite the fact that Kelce made no mention of politics whatsoever. At the time of publishing, the post had racked up more than 2,000 comments—double the amount of interaction seen on his previous three posts combined.

Jason Kelce, who retired from the NFL earlier this year after a Hall of Fame-worthy career, has largely steered clear of politics. But with the country still divided, even a simple patriotic statement has become fuel for online rage.

Interestingly, his brother Travis Kelce has found himself closer to the political spotlight, thanks to his high-profile relationship with pop star Taylor Swift—who publicly endorsed Kamala Harris in 2024 and has since become a darling of the Democrat Party.

While Jason Kelce hasn’t endorsed any candidate, his message resonated with many Americans who are exhausted by partisan bitterness and just want to enjoy the country they love.

“It’s heartbreaking,” said a fan outside Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. “He literally just said he loves America. If that’s controversial now, we’re in trouble.”

Meanwhile, President Trump remains undeterred. The $3.3 trillion bill he signed on the Fourth of July includes massive tax incentives for American manufacturers, a record investment in military readiness, and a bold initiative to secure the southern border once and for all.

“This is the kind of leadership we voted for,” said Rep. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) on The Will Cain Show. “The Democrats and media elites may be outraged, but working Americans are finally getting relief.”

As for Jason Kelce, he hasn’t commented on the backlash—and maybe he shouldn’t have to. After all, loving America shouldn’t be a political statement. It should be common ground.

  1. I’m disappointed that Travis did not stick up for his brother since he has the platform to do so. Is he so afraid of offending his girlfriend that he can’t even acknowledge that his brother was just being a decent human being?

  2. I agree Mr. Kelce. We are indeed fortunate to be Americans despite what the whiney liars on the left say. If they are so unhappy here perhaps they would be happier someplace like China or South Africa.

  3. Good for Jason! I for one am sick of Biden and his leading our country while suffering from dementia. What is wrong with people?

  4. I agree even tho I am not one of his big fans.. He just expressed his opinion. and I think it was wonderful, saying it is the day we should all rejoice and celebrate the wonderful day, the Fourth of July, without someone accusing him of a political post. I thought it was very heartfelt and personally didn’t think he was veering to the left or right, but apparently created a collision course anyway!! Wake up America..Stop this whiney and enjoy the moments.!
Life is short. The time spent with a tacky argument, could have had a wonderful Fourth of July cookout with all the trimmings! BELATED HAPPY FOURTH AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!!

  5. All the haters are going to hate. Ignore them. They have no common sense! Grow up! President Trump is the best President ever! All of the haters should not benefit from the big beautiful bill. Don’t deserve it!
