President Donald J. Trump is going scorched-earth.
The president has launched a no-holds-barred legal threat against media titan Rupert Murdoch and The Wall Street Journal, accusing them of publishing a “fake” and “disgusting” letter allegedly written by Trump to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
In a fiery series of Truth Social posts this week, Trump vowed to sue “the ass off” Murdoch and his media empire, calling the letter a “complete fabrication” and a “deep state-style hit job” intended to smear his presidency.
“I told Rupert Murdoch personally this was a scam. I don’t talk like that, and I sure as hell don’t draw pictures,” Trump wrote. “Now he’s going to face the consequences. I’m suing him and every outlet involved. Full stop.”
Last week, The Wall Street Journal published what it claimed was a 2003 letter from Trump to Epstein. The article claimed the letter was found among a bundle of personal notes Epstein’s associate Ghislaine Maxwell intended to gift him for his birthday.
The alleged letter, which included a crude drawing of a naked woman and a suggestive birthday message signed “Donald,” was immediately met with skepticism—and fury from the president.
“These are not my words. I never wrote such filth,” Trump posted, calling the story “garbage journalism designed to distract from what’s really in those Epstein files.”
The White House issued an official statement doubling down on Trump’s position: “President Trump never authored any correspondence to Jeffrey Epstein resembling what was published by the Wall Street Journal. The media has hit a new low in its politically motivated smear campaign.”
But the president didn’t stop there. In a move that’s rattled deep state loyalists and drawn praise from conservatives demanding accountability, Trump publicly instructed Attorney General Pam Bondi to release all grand jury material tied to Epstein’s decades-long sex trafficking operation.
“Unseal it. Every document. Every name. Every transcript,” Trump declared during a press event in Palm Beach on Wednesday. “The American people deserve to know who was protecting this monster—and who was using his services.”
Bondi confirmed on X (formerly Twitter):
“President Trump — we’re ready. We’ll move in court tomorrow to unseal those transcripts.”
This comes after Bondi revealed earlier this year that a sealed client list from the Epstein investigation was “sitting on [her] desk right now to review.”
Surprisingly, one of Trump’s most prominent defenders in this firestorm has been none other than Elon Musk.
Taking to X, Musk wrote:
“That letter doesn’t sound like something Trump would say tbh. Where’s the real evidence? Why hasn’t the FBI released the files?”
Musk, who previously stated that Trump’s name did appear in the Epstein files—albeit with “no wrongdoing”—called on the FBI to be transparent.
“They’ve had thousands of pages for years. What are they hiding?”
Jeffrey Epstein, once a billionaire financier with a Rolodex full of elite names, was arrested in July 2019 on federal child sex trafficking charges. He was found dead under suspicious circumstances in a Manhattan jail cell just a month later—an event Trump himself once called “very fishy.”
Epstein’s ties to powerful political figures—Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew, and others—have fueled conspiracy theories for years. Trump, who once banned Epstein from Mar-a-Lago after an alleged incident involving a young girl, has publicly distanced himself from Epstein since 2016.
In contrast, Epstein visited Clinton’s White House multiple times and accompanied him on overseas trips aboard the now-infamous “Lolita Express.”
Despite public promises, the Justice Department under both Biden and Obama resisted full disclosure of Epstein’s client list and grand jury materials—fueling speculation of a political cover-up.
Now, under President Trump’s second administration, that may be about to change.
“If there’s nothing to hide, then why are the Democrats panicking?” said Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) on Fox News. “Let the chips fall where they may. We need names.”
With lawsuits looming, federal documents potentially on the verge of being unsealed, and high-profile allies like Musk backing him, Trump appears determined to expose what he’s calling “the elite’s dirtiest secret.”
“The American people have waited long enough,” Trump wrote. “Time to shine a light on the darkness.”
