A future King William is reportedly preparing to take a hardline approach to the lingering scandal surrounding Prince Andrew — potentially cutting him out of royal life completely.
According to a new report in The Daily Telegraph, William may ban his disgraced uncle from all official royal appearances, possibly even excluding him from his own coronation. One royal source told the outlet that Andrew might be allowed to appear in public with the family only “rarely — if ever.”
The report comes in the wake of bombshell claims from Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, a new biography by Andrew Lownie that exposes Andrew’s alleged sexual misconduct and history of financial recklessness. The revelations have reignited serious conversations behind palace walls about what to do with the controversial duke.
Insiders say William is fully aware of the damage Andrew could cause to the monarchy’s image, especially as a new generation steps up. “He understands the reputational threat his uncle poses,” a source told The Telegraph, “and won’t shy away from taking action if it needs to fall to him.”
One of the most drastic possibilities reportedly being discussed? Stripping Andrew of his royal title entirely. That move would likely require new legislation from the government to make it official.
So far, neither Prince William nor Prince Andrew has commented publicly.
