Prince Andrew reportedly survived at least two assassination attempts, according to shocking claims in historian Andrew Lownie’s explosive new book, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York. The disgraced Duke of York, now 64, was allegedly targeted by both the Argentine military junta and the Irish Republican Army (IRA) during the height of his royal prominence.
One of the most chilling plots allegedly unfolded in the aftermath of the 1982 Falklands War, when Argentina reportedly considered deploying commandos to kill Andrew while he vacationed on the Caribbean island of Mustique with then-girlfriend Koo Stark. Intelligence sources told Lownie there was even discussion of sending a submarine packed with special forces to eliminate him, though the mission was never carried out.
A separate plan involved the IRA, which Lownie claims plotted to assassinate the duke on a golf course. The historian describes Andrew’s notoriously lax approach to personal security as a recurring theme that made him a tempting target for hostile forces.
Andrew’s Caribbean getaway with Koo Stark, a British actress later wrongly branded a porn star by the tabloids, had already drawn massive media attention at the time. Stark successfully sued the Daily Mail in 2022, winning substantial damages after the court ruled that her 1976 film The Awakening of Emily was an erotic coming-of-age drama—not pornography.
The book also dives into Andrew’s ongoing scandals, including his ties to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Lownie paints a damning portrait, claiming Andrew was manipulated and exploited by Epstein while also engaging in a “highly sexed” lifestyle long before their association. The duke’s reputation collapsed after settling a multi-million-dollar civil suit brought by Virginia Giuffre, who accused him of sexual assault—allegations he continues to deny.
A source close to the royal family told RadarOnline, “What stands out is just how careless Andrew has always been, in his relationships and with his own safety. He seems blind to any risks, whether from hostile powers overseas, terrorist groups in Britain, or even those within his inner circle. That complacency and arrogance have been central to his undoing.”
