Trump Revokes Kamala Harris’ Secret Service Protection — Sparks Political Firestorm

In a stunning move that’s already sending shockwaves through Washington, President Donald Trump has revoked former Vice President Kamala Harris’ Secret Service protection, effective September 1.

A spokesperson for Harris confirmed the decision Friday but said no explanation was given. “We weren’t provided with any justification,” the spokesperson told Fox News. “All we know is her protection ends next week.”

Traditionally, former vice presidents receive Secret Service protection for six months after leaving office. But in January, just days before leaving the White House, former President Joe Biden signed an executive memorandum granting Harris an extra year of security — an unusual step critics at the time called a “political favor.”

President Trump rescinded that memo on Thursday, effectively ending Harris’ additional year of taxpayer-funded protection.

A senior White House official, speaking exclusively to Fox News Digital, defended the move:

“This administration is committed to restoring normal policy,” the official said. “President Trump believes taxpayer dollars shouldn’t be wasted providing indefinite security for failed politicians who are no longer serving the American people.”

The decision comes just weeks before Harris begins her multi-city book tour for “107 Days,” a memoir recounting the final months of the Biden administration. The tour will take her to New York City, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and other major cities where security concerns are typically high.

Former Secret Service officials warn the timing could create serious risks. “Book tours are high-profile events,” said former agent Scott Hargrave. “Crowds, travel, and public appearances — it’s a perfect storm for security threats.”

Democrats are already accusing President Trump of political revenge.

“This is unprecedented and dangerous,” said Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA). “Revoking protection weeks before she travels the country is reckless and puts her life at risk.”

But Trump supporters see it differently.

“Why should Kamala Harris get special treatment?” asked conservative strategist Mark Caldwell. “She spent four years undermining President Trump, and now taxpayers are footing the bill for her security while she promotes a book trashing his policies. Enough is enough.”

Sources close to Harris say she was blindsided by the announcement. Her husband, Doug Emhoff, also lost his Secret Service detail in July.

“She feels exposed,” one confidant told the Wall Street Journal. “Security was never a political issue until now — and suddenly, it’s a message.”

For now, Harris will be responsible for arranging her own private security if she chooses. That could cost hundreds of thousands of dollars — a sharp contrast from the taxpayer-funded protection she’s had since entering the Senate in 2017.

Whether this decision is a routine policy correction or a political statement, one thing is certain: it’s a high-stakes moment in an already bitter political climate.

  1. There is no reason to provide secret service protection for her. She’s of no value to anyone, foreign or domestic. She’s become little more than background noise in average American’s lives. She’s not even newsworthy in the progressive mainstream media or being featured any any liberal publications.
