Jimmy Kimmel Hosted ONE GOP Guest and it Came with a Shocking Condition

One-sided rants, MAGA smears, and tanking ratings finally caught up with Hollywood’s least funny host.

Jimmy Kimmel’s once-glamorous late-night career has crumbled into chaos — and many Americans say it’s about time.

ABC yanked “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” off the air this week indefinitely after the host falsely accused conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s killer of being a MAGA supporter. The claim wasn’t just wrong — it was grotesque, coming days after Kirk’s public execution in Utah shocked the nation.

But Kimmel’s downfall didn’t begin there. A new bombshell report from media watchdog NewsBusters exposes just how deep the rot went: over the past four years, Kimmel welcomed only one right-leaning guest on his show — and humiliated him on-air.

“Jimmy Kimmel wasn’t canceled — he imploded under the weight of his own arrogance and bias,” said Vice President JD Vance. “He wasn’t funny. His ratings were garbage. Even advertisers gave up.”

A Show Built on Smearing the Right

NewsBusters’ analysis is damning. In 2025 alone, 97% of Kimmel’s political jokes targeted Republicans — most of them aimed at President Donald J. Trump, who was mentioned mockingly over 1,100 times this year.

Other frequent targets included:

  • Elon Musk (154 jokes), former Trump adviser and now a major defense contractor
  • War Secretary Pete Hegseth (71 jokes), who has led the Pentagon under President Trump since January

In stark contrast, Joe Biden — whose gaffe reel would be a goldmine for any real comedian — was joked about just 26 times during the same period.

“Kimmel became a mouthpiece for Democrat groupthink,” said Curtis Houck, managing editor of NewsBusters. “He wasn’t entertaining. He was just angry.”

The Lindell Claw Machine Humiliation

Kimmel’s only GOP guest in four years? Trump ally and MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, who was forced to appear inside a claw machine in 2023 because he hadn’t taken the COVID vaccine.

Kimmel called it “hilarious.” Millions of Americans called it degrading.

“I did it because I wanted to get the message out,” Lindell said in a 2024 interview. “But looking back, I was played. They weren’t interested in a real conversation. They wanted a circus.”

The segment went viral — for all the wrong reasons — and solidified Kimmel’s image as a leftist bully rather than a late-night host.

Ratings Collapse and Viewer Exodus

According to Nielsen ratings, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” plummeted to just 1.1 million viewers in August 2025 — nearly half of what it drew in January.

That makes Kimmel the lowest-rated of all major late-night hosts.

Former NYC Councilman Joe Borelli (R-Staten Island) didn’t hold back.

“Kimmel was a lot funnier back when he was chubby and didn’t take himself so seriously. Now he’s just a bitter elitist spewing Democrat talking points.”

RNC Fires Back: “No One Will Miss Him”

Republican National Committee spokesperson Kiersten Pels called Kimmel’s exit overdue.

“This is a man who built his brand parroting leftist rage to a shrinking audience,” she told reporters Friday. “Now Democrats are crying harder over a washed-up talk show host than they did over Charlie Kirk’s assassination. That tells you everything you need to know.”

Selective Outrage and Liberal Hypocrisy

The left-wing media has already started framing Kimmel’s suspension as a “free speech” issue. But conservatives aren’t buying it.

“Where were these defenders of free speech when Big Tech censored Hunter Biden’s laptop story?” asked Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY). “This isn’t about free speech. It’s about ratings. No one wants to watch a one-sided political lecture at midnight.”

Kimmel’s defenders, including a former staffer, tried to salvage his record by citing old GOP guests — Mitt Romney in 2016, John McCain, and Bill Cassidy back in 2017. But those appearances came long before Kimmel fully aligned himself with progressive causes.

“Let’s be honest,” said Roger Stone. “Kimmel’s greatest crime wasn’t being liberal — it was being painfully unfunny.”

Late-Night Landscape: A Liberal Echo Chamber

Kimmel wasn’t alone in his bias. From September 2022 to June 2025, NewsBusters tracked:

  • 511 Democrat or left-leaning guests across late-night shows
  • Just 14 Republican or conservative guests

Shows hosted by Stephen Colbert, Seth Meyers, and Jimmy Fallon all followed the same playbook: mock Trump, ignore Biden, and alienate half the country.

CBS announced in July that it will cancel Colbert’s “Late Show” in May 2026 due to “financial reasons.” Many expect more to follow.

Final Thought: Is America Done with Elitist Late Night?

As America moves forward under President Trump’s second term, many voters are asking a simple question:

Who exactly are these shows for?

The answer appears to be: no one outside of Hollywood, Brooklyn, and Berkeley.

Jimmy Kimmel may have mocked MAGA Americans nightly, but in the end, it was middle America that had the last laugh.
