Singer Refuses to ‘Bend the Knee’ After being Told to Remove American Flag

Country singer Alexis Wilkins is drawing a line in the sand — and it’s red, white, and blue.

The rising Nashville artist, who’s also become a firebrand conservative voice, is speaking out after refusing to remove the American flag from her Instagram bio — despite direct pressure from insiders in the music industry who claimed the flag was “too political.”

“I was flat-out told to take it down,” Wilkins told Patriot Nation News in an exclusive interview. “They said the American flag in my bio could be seen as ‘partisan.’ I said — and I’ll say it again — that’s insane. I will not apologize for loving my country.”

Wilkins, 28, didn’t start out politically outspoken. But like many young conservatives in liberal-dominated institutions, she says she was pushed too far — and that’s when everything changed.

“I got an F in a class where I’d only ever gotten A’s,” she said. “Why? Because I refused to write a paper trashing President Trump. That was the assignment — literally bashing his border policy.”

She called it her “red-pill moment.”

“That’s when I realized that not being a liberal automatically makes you a target. So I said fine — if standing for the Constitution and the flag makes me ‘controversial,’ then count me in.”

Wilkins, who has performed at veterans’ charity events and supported military causes, said she was warned that even supporting non-political groups like Wounded Warrior Project could be “seen as partisan.”

“You can’t even help a vet without some leftist in the industry telling you it’s ‘too MAGA,’” she said.

Though country music is often seen as one of the few entertainment lanes where patriotism is welcome, Wilkins says that’s changing — fast.

“I was told point-blank: if you want tours, if you want radio play, if you want a label deal, you’re going to need to ditch the flag and post a Pride graphic instead,” she said. “I said, ‘No thanks.’ I’m not bending the knee.”

Her stand didn’t go unnoticed. Fans have flooded her social media with messages of support, calling her the “Tomi Lahren of country music” and “the female Aaron Lewis” — referencing the former Staind frontman turned unapologetically conservative solo artist.

“I don’t want to play pretend,” Wilkins said. “I want to play music — and I want to be honest. If I have to choose between fake fame and real freedom, I choose freedom every time.”

With President Trump back in office and his administration doubling down on American exceptionalism, Wilkins believes the tide is turning.

“We’re not in the Biden years anymore,” she said. “Patriotism is no longer something to be ashamed of. The American flag represents every veteran, every farmer, every trucker, every cop — the backbone of this nation.”

Asked if she’s worried her defiance might cost her future deals in Hollywood or the music business, Wilkins didn’t flinch.

“I didn’t get into country music to make liberals happy,” she said. “I got into it to tell the truth. And the truth is — this country is worth standing up for.”

Wilkins has a message for others in the entertainment industry who feel pressured to hide their beliefs:

“You’re not alone. You don’t have to play their game. You don’t have to post a rainbow just to get booked. Be who you are. Stand for what’s right. And never, ever apologize for being American.”

  1. Thank God that we have so many young folk who realize that the Let & Far-Left side of the democRAT party and its membership is so brainwashed today that it is a danger to our future. Of course we have some weak areas in the republican and Independent parties but they are no way near the democRATS of today.

  2. They’d probably be totally happy if she displayed the hammer and sickle instead. I’m like a lot of people. I’m tired of those in the so-called entertainment industry hack who take very opportunity to show their hatred of America instead of, like this lady, showing their love for their country. I realize that it might just be a little unusual and difficult for them to do so any more, but how about just try actually entertaining the people for a change. Or have they simply forgotten how?
