Passenger Duct-Taped to Seat for Attacking Flight Attendant (Video)

What started as a routine American Airlines flight from Charlotte to Las Vegas turned into a nightmarish spectacle when a passenger erupted in violence, spewing threats and bizarre confessions before being duct-taped to her seat.

Federal prosecutors say 33-year-old Ketty J. Dilone unleashed chaos on Flight 1400 on Sept. 16, screaming at crew members, attacking a flight attendant, and terrifying fellow passengers.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Nevada, Dilone stormed the cabin aisle during takeoff, cursing at crew members and refusing orders to sit down. When attendants tried to intervene, she allegedly struck one, causing the employee to fall.

Passengers quickly pulled out their phones. Viral TikTok clips show Dilone thrashing against restraints while screaming:
“You don’t know what the f–k I’ve been through, bitch! Kill yourself, bitch! You wanna die, bitch?”

Crew members subdued her using zip ties and heavy-duty duct tape — a move airlines typically describe as a “last resort.”

As the plane continued its cross-country trek, Dilone’s tirade took a darker turn. In a moment that left the cabin stunned, she casually confessed to trying to murder her father as a child.

“When I was 11, I put roach poison in his coffee. It didn’t work,” she said calmly in one of the videos. She even explained the chemical she used: “In DR, we call it Tres Pasitos.”

The pesticide, nicknamed “three little steps” because that’s all it takes to kill rodents, is banned in the United States.

One fellow passenger told local reporters, “People were just frozen. She was laughing, singing, then suddenly admitting she tried to poison her dad. Nobody knew what she’d do next.”

Witnesses say Dilone oscillated between bursts of rage and eerie calm. At one point, she began singing a Spanish song titled “Tres Pasitos” before launching back into obscenities.

“She went from joking to violent in seconds,” a passenger wrote on TikTok. “It was like something out of a horror movie at 30,000 feet.”

When Flight 1400 finally landed at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, FBI agents boarded the aircraft and took Dilone into custody. She was transported to the Henderson Detention Center.

She has been charged with interfering with a flight crew and assaulting a flight attendant — charges that carry up to 20 years in federal prison.

Dilone appeared in a Las Vegas federal courtroom on Sept. 18, where prosecutors outlined her alleged midair rampage. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 1.

This isn’t the first time airlines have had to tape down disruptive passengers. In 2021, a Frontier Airlines flight made headlines when attendants duct-taped a man to his seat after he groped staff and punched crew members.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, reports of “air rage” spiked in recent years, fueled by pandemic stress, alcohol consumption, and packed flights.

“Flight attendants are trained to de-escalate, but when someone becomes physically violent, duct tape is literally sometimes the only option,” aviation analyst Henry Harteveldt told ABC News earlier this year.

For now, Dilone sits in custody awaiting her hearing. If convicted, she faces a future far removed from crowded planes and viral TikTok videos — a federal prison cell.

  1. She looks the part. Nothing to see here folks. Just another demented left wing nut job. Probably just looking for a few seconds of public media attention, which she actually got. We are, after all, seeing her face and reading about her right now aren’t we? If we’d just stop even paying attention to these mentally challenged crackpots, they’d all dry up and just blow away. Back in 1968 during the democratic campaign riots, the mayor of Chicago told the that they were at least partly responsible for all the looting and damage. He said “They’re only here because you’re here.” He was totally correct. If the mainstream media would have folded up and left, so would most all of the troublemakers. Now I realize that we’re addressing a minor item here, but the comparison is the same. If we actually had responsible media in the country, the fact that the incident happened would be reported on, but neither the name or photos of the individual would be released for publication, and, therefore, individuals such as this one would be deprived of any fame and have no reason to annoy others in the first place.
