Nick Saban Comment on Sleeping with Hillary Clinton Resurfaces

A wild old quote from football legend Nick Saban is making the rounds again—and the timing couldn’t be more perfect. As Michigan football falls into chaos over a sex scandal and arrest, fans are pointing back to Saban’s strange but powerful warning about staying out of trouble.

Years ago, Alabama coach Nick Saban gave a memorable speech to his players about avoiding risky hookups. That speech is going viral again after Michigan coach Sherrone Moore was fired and arrested this week.

Saban warned his players not to sleep with women who “have less to lose than you do.” Then he added something no one expected.

“If I’m ever going to sleep around on Miss Terry, it’s going to be with Hillary f***ing Rodham Clinton.”

That quote came from the 2015 book Saban: The Making of a Coach by Monte Burke. The players reportedly burst out laughing when Saban said it. One even fell out of his chair.

Now, in 2025, the quote has taken on a new meaning. Especially after what just happened at the University of Michigan.

Michigan coach Sherrone Moore was fired Wednesday for having an “inappropriate relationship” with a female staffer. Just hours later, police arrested him after responding to an assault call at an apartment complex.

Moore is a married father of three. He was taken into custody at Washtenaw County Jail. Police showed up around 4:10 p.m.—just minutes before Michigan made the firing public.

He had been making $6 million a year.

The university said the affair broke school policy and wouldn’t be tolerated. Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel made it clear:

“This conduct violates university policy. We have zero tolerance.”

Sources told The Athletic that Michigan got a tip about the affair a while ago. At first, they found nothing. But new evidence came to light in the past day, and Moore was immediately let go.

Moore was supposed to lead the No. 18 Wolverines against Texas on New Year’s Eve. Instead, his career may be over.

He’s been married to his wife Kelli since 2015. They have three daughters together. The identity of the staffer he was allegedly involved with has not been revealed.

As the Moore scandal broke, social media users started reposting the Hillary Clinton quote from Saban’s speech.

“Nick Saban warned them years ago,” one post read. Another said, “Saban built a dynasty. This is why.”

In 2025, with President Trump back in office and values like discipline and family being pushed back into the spotlight, Saban’s old words seem to hit harder.
