Kai Trump meant to give fans a sweet behind-the-scenes look at her high school graduation. Instead, her vlog may have accidentally turned into a Trump family attendance report.
The 19-year-old granddaughter of President Donald Trump graduated from The Benjamin School in South Florida on May 15 and later posted a YouTube video showing the big day. But eagle-eyed viewers quickly noticed something surprising: only a small slice of the famous Trump family appeared to be there.
Kai’s parents, Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump, were proudly in attendance, filming their daughter as she walked in with the graduating class. Her siblings, Donald Trump III and Chloe, were also spotted nearby.
But when it came to the rest of the Trump clan, the room looked noticeably thin.
Tiffany Trump was seen at the ceremony with her husband, Michael Boulos, chatting near family friend Allen Kournikova. Don Jr.’s fiancée, Bettina Anderson, was also there, sitting close by as the family gathered for Kai’s milestone moment.
Still, several major Trump names appeared to be missing.
Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner were nowhere to be seen in the footage, despite living roughly 90 minutes away in Indian Creek, Florida. Eric Trump and Lara Trump, who also live in Jupiter, reportedly could not attend because they were traveling with President Trump on his China trip.
The president himself was also absent, but for a pretty unavoidable reason. According to the report, Trump was aboard Air Force One returning from a summit in Beijing with Chinese leader Xi Jinping when the graduation ceremony took place.
Even so, Kai made it clear her grandfather did not forget about her big day.
In the vlog, she is seen getting her hair done at a salon when her phone rings. The caller ID shows “Grandpa” with the initials “DT.” While viewers could not hear Trump’s side of the call, Kai answered warmly before telling him, “Love you. Goodbye.”
She later gushed about the moment, saying it was “so cute” that he called while flying back from China.
“He literally is on the way back from China, and he’s like calling me,” she said.
That sweet phone call may blunt the gossip, but it did not stop viewers from noticing who was missing. Melania Trump and Barron Trump were also not seen in the video, even though the family has a nearby home at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach.
For Kai, the day was still clearly a proud family moment. Her friend Allen Kournikova praised her work ethic, saying people know how hard she works at golf but may not realize how much effort she puts into school.
Between golf, academics, and life in one of America’s most-watched political families, Kai has grown up in a spotlight few teenagers could understand.
But her graduation vlog did more than celebrate a milestone. It accidentally gave the public a rare look at the family dynamics behind the Trump name — and sparked plenty of questions about who made the effort to show up, who could not, and who simply stayed away.
