Shirtless Gunman Turns Neighborhood into War Zone in Terrifying Video

A quiet Las Vegas suburb became the scene of a nightmare when a shirtless man armed with an AR-style rifle allegedly ran through a residential neighborhood and opened fire on random homes in broad daylight.

The terrifying rampage unfolded July 19 on Yellowhammer Place in North Las Vegas, where police say 39-year-old Daniel Lujan Jr. was captured on surveillance video sprinting down the street with what appeared to be an AR-15-style rifle while firing repeated shots at houses.

Neighbors were left shaken, and many are now saying they are grateful no innocent families were killed.

One homeowner, who asked not to be identified, shared chilling security footage showing the armed man on her front porch ringing the doorbell before continuing to fire at nearby homes. The woman said she has a 1-year-old child and believes her family may have narrowly escaped disaster because they were not home when the gunfire erupted.

“I’m just glad we weren’t home at the time because I don’t know what we would have done,” she told FOX 5. “I don’t know if one of us maybe would have tried to answer the door.”

The homeowner said bullets struck her house multiple times, including one round that tore through a wall and entered her kitchen. Had her family been inside, the outcome could have been unthinkable.

“I would like to assume if we heard gunshots we would run and go upstairs, but thankfully we were not there,” she said.

Another neighbor, Ryan Adams, said he initially saw the shirtless man running through the neighborhood and thought the object in his hands might have been a water gun. But as the man moved closer, Adams realized the horrifying truth.

“It wasn’t until he got closer that I was like, oh yeah, that’s an AR — that he is armed with,” Adams said.

Adams also recorded video from inside his home as the gunman ran through the street firing at houses. Like others on the block, his family was left rattled by the chaos.

“Family is shook up,” Adams said. “We will be processing it for a few days.”

The incident is yet another chilling reminder of how quickly ordinary Americans can find themselves trapped in a life-or-death situation, even in their own neighborhoods. Residents who were simply going about their day suddenly found themselves ducking for cover as bullets tore through homes on what should have been a peaceful residential street.

Police said Lujan initially resisted arrest before officers were able to take him into custody, according to KVVU. He later died at the hospital.

Officials have not released his cause of death. Authorities reportedly believe he may have been under the influence of some kind of substance at the time of the shooting.

No residents were reported killed in the frightening attack, but neighbors say the damage left behind tells the story of just how close the community came to tragedy.
