Hunter Biden Says He’s 48.5% Gay in Bizarre Interview

Hunter Biden is once again making headlines — this time with a bizarre joke about his sexuality during a wide-ranging interview that touched on everything from Republicans and addiction to his father’s cancer battle.

The former president’s son jokingly declared himself “48.5% gay” while appearing with progressive political commentator Luke Beasley, turning what began as playful banter into another viral Hunter Biden moment.

“Let’s get serious. I am gay,” Beasley told Biden early in the roughly 80-minute conversation.

“Really? Wow. Seriously. I’m so amazed you’re gay,” Biden replied sarcastically.

When Beasley turned the question around and asked whether Biden was gay, the former first son answered, “Only a little bit.”

Beasley pressed him for a percentage.

“48.6,” Biden replied.

The strange back-and-forth continued throughout the interview, with Biden joking that his supposed level of “gaydom” had dropped to 47% after telling Beasley he would prefer someone “a little bit more masculine” if he were gay.

By the end of the conversation, however, Biden announced that the number had climbed again.

“I just want to let you know that I am back up to 48.5 percent gay,” he said.

Beasley later turned the exchange into a short social media clip titled “Tracking Hunter Biden’s gayness throughout our interview.”

The comments come as Biden, who largely stayed out of public view during much of his father’s presidency, has become increasingly outspoken since leaving the White House spotlight behind.

And his recent appearances have not exactly been low-key.

In July, Biden accused Washington Republicans of being controlled in part by what he called a “closetocracy,” claiming there was a “closeted gay mafia, largely Republican” operating in the nation’s capital.

Biden argued that the private sexual lives of politicians become relevant when those same lawmakers publicly support policies he views as hostile toward gay Americans.

His latest media push also appears to be part of a broader attempt to reclaim his public image after years of scandals, investigations and relentless Republican scrutiny.

Hunter Biden’s personal problems became a major political issue during Joe Biden’s presidency, with Republicans repeatedly highlighting his history of drug addiction, overseas business dealings, private messages and explicit photographs.

Donald Trump famously made “Where’s Hunter?” a rallying cry while attacking the Biden family.

Hunter now says the years of public humiliation no longer have the same power over him.

He told Beasley he remained relatively quiet while his father was president because he was facing federal investigations, criminal charges and probation.

“It was by no choice of my own that I was a distraction in this,” Biden said.

He claimed Republicans attempted to turn his darkest moments into a weapon against his father.

Biden, who says he has been sober since June 2019, also spoke extensively about addiction and recovery.

“Guilt is an appropriate emotion, particularly in recovery,” he said, explaining that recovering addicts must acknowledge the damage they caused while refusing to believe they are permanently defined by it.

“You have to make amends for those things that you are appropriately guilty for, but you don’t have to live in shame,” Biden said.

His willingness to openly discuss his drug use and personal scandals has also changed the political equation for critics hoping to embarrass him.

Biden has increasingly appeared on platforms associated with the political right, including interviews with Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens — two figures who have spent years sharply criticizing the Biden family.

Beasley questioned whether Hunter’s friendly conversations with conservative personalities could help rehabilitate commentators who remain deeply opposed to Democrats.

Biden defended the appearances, saying he wants access to audiences that would otherwise never listen to him.

He said Carlson, whom he has known socially for years, helped spread what Biden called a false “Biden crime family” narrative.

But rather than avoiding Carlson, Hunter said he wanted to confront him directly and speak to his audience without traditional media outlets standing between them.

Biden also made it clear that he feels no obligation to follow the Democratic Party’s political playbook.

“I get to do whatever the f— I want to do,” he said.

“I’m not running for anything. Nobody in my family is running for anything. I’m not talking on behalf of the Democratic Party. I’m not talking on behalf of anybody.”

The interview took a more serious turn when Hunter discussed his father’s health.

Former President Joe Biden has been undergoing treatment for metastatic prostate cancer, and Hunter said radiation helped address much of the disease.

However, he said hormone therapy has taken a noticeable toll on his father’s energy.

According to Hunter, the former president has nevertheless continued working on a book and wants to promote it publicly.

“The problem is that he hasn’t stopped,” Hunter said.

He then revealed the blunt advice he has been giving his 83-year-old father.

“I really just wish, ‘Dad, just effing lie down.’”

For Hunter Biden, the latest interview appears to signal that the years of keeping a relatively low profile are over.

Whether discussing crack addiction, attacking Republicans, sitting down with conservative media personalities or calculating precisely what percentage “gay” he supposedly is, the former first son appears more than willing to keep himself at the center of the political conversation.
