Congresswoman Stuns PBS Host with Brutal Mitch McConnell Remark

Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene took a savage swipe at longtime Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell during a fiery PBS interview — and her dark joke left the host struggling not to laugh.

Greene appeared on Firing Line with Margaret Hoover, where she opened up about her dramatic split from President Donald Trump, her frustration with the Republican Party and what she sees as a growing divide inside the MAGA movement.

But one comment about McConnell quickly stole the show.

Greene was explaining why she never planned to spend the rest of her life in Washington when she suddenly dragged the 84-year-old Kentucky senator into the conversation.

“I never went to Washington to cling to power until I’m dead or alive, like Mitch McConnell,” Greene said.

Then came the punchline.

“We don’t even know!”

Hoover immediately broke into laughter and appeared to struggle to regain her composure.

The remark came as McConnell has largely disappeared from public view in recent months.

He was last seen on Capitol Hill on June 11 and has since reportedly spent time hospitalized following a fall, undergoing rehabilitation and recovering at home, according to his office.

Greene, meanwhile, used the interview to make it clear that her relationship with Trump has dramatically deteriorated.

Hoover asked about Trump previously branding Greene a “traitor.”

“Yeah, he means a traitor to him,” Greene fired back.

Greene insisted her loyalty was never personally tied to Trump.

“My loyalty does not belong to Donald Trump,” she said, adding that the former president’s insult “did not hurt me one single bit.”

Greene claimed people regularly approach her in public and thank her for speaking out.

She also dismissed Trump’s criticism as “a bunch of hot air.”

The former Georgia congresswoman said she now believes she represents Americans who feel abandoned by the Republican establishment.

Greene described herself as part of the “America First” wing that was once firmly connected to MAGA but has since fractured.

“I think I represent many Americans who find themselves completely disenfranchised by the Republican Party,” she said.

And Greene wasn’t finished unloading on the GOP.

She also accused the Republican Party of failing to respect women, describing the party as a “boys’ club.”

“I don’t think women are respected in the Republican Party,” Greene said. “It’s a boys’ club, it literally is.”

She claimed that attitude comes “from the top down” and accused Trump of repeatedly attacking and demeaning women.

Greene also criticized what she sees as an obsession with women’s appearances inside conservative political circles.

“I think there’s so much more to women than how you look or how you dress and how you present yourself,” she said.

She added that women should not feel pressured to rely on “very skimpy clothes” or “massive amounts of plastic surgery” to gain attention.

According to Greene, the Republican Party may already be paying a political price.

“A lot of women don’t want to vote for Republicans,” she said, claiming she has been hearing that sentiment increasingly often.

Greene argued that women do not feel Republicans take their contributions seriously and accused male leaders inside the party of wanting to “hold the power for themselves.”

“I think the Republican Party is suffering for it,” she said.

But despite all the political fireworks, it was Greene’s brutal McConnell crack that produced the interview’s most memorable moment — turning an otherwise serious discussion about the future of the Republican Party into an unexpected burst of laughter.
