LongHorn Steakhouse Worker Exposes Roaches in Disgusting Viral Video

A LongHorn Steakhouse worker in Georgia has sparked outrage after filming what he says were disgusting conditions inside the restaurant’s kitchen — including roaches crawling across the floor, piles of food debris and trash scattered around the workspace.

Sean Headley said he finally decided to expose the kitchen at the LongHorn Steakhouse on Camp Creek Parkway in East Point after repeatedly complaining to management about the conditions.

The disturbing videos quickly went viral.

Headley told FOX 5 Atlanta that he started working at the restaurant in April and had complained several times to managers and even the corporate office before posting the footage Wednesday.

Within hours, the clips were spreading across social media.

“It’s really the work environment and the conditions that we were working in,” Headley said. “There was a lot of inhumane conditions.”

Footage shown by FOX 5 appeared to show roaches crawling across the kitchen floor, food scraps and garbage scattered around work areas, grimy surfaces and what appeared to be raw meat sitting on a shelf above boxes.

Other clips showed dirty deep fryers and employees sweeping up piles of debris.

“There’s no way I should work under these conditions, bro,” Headley said.

He claimed he had asked restaurant managers for basic supplies and equipment so employees could properly do their jobs.

“When I spoke up to the managers, you know, I was just like, hey, is it possible for us to get the tools to succeed?” he said.

Headley claimed his concerns were brushed aside and said he was treated like a “goody two-shoes” for complaining.

“There’s a lot of roaches in there,” he said. “It was just a lot of health conditions I couldn’t work with, sir. So I just had to speak up after a while.”

Headley said he wants health inspectors to visit restaurants more frequently and called for better oversight across Darden Restaurants, the company that owns LongHorn Steakhouse.

He also complained about problems with the restaurant’s air conditioning.

LongHorn Steakhouse acknowledged the footage in a statement to FOX 5.

“The conditions shown are unacceptable and have been addressed,” the company said.

LongHorn added that it was continuing to take steps to provide a safe environment for customers and employees and said a new leader had recently been placed at the restaurant to make sure company standards were followed.

Despite the stomach-turning footage, FOX 5 reported that the restaurant received an A grade during its most recent health inspection on Aug. 25.

The station said it contacted the local health department for more information but had not received a response at the time of its report.

The footage left viewers disgusted.

One commenter said they were stunned because Darden Restaurants is known for having strict cleanliness standards.

“I’m honestly shocked, Darden has really high standards for restaurant cleanliness,” the viewer wrote.

Others claimed the conditions may be more common than customers realize.

“You would be surprised how many places look like this,” one person wrote.

Another commenter who claimed to have worked in restaurants for 30 years said, “This is pretty much all of them.”

Several viewers praised Headley for speaking out.

“That is a good employee who wants to succeed,” one commenter wrote. “Nor does he want people to eat food made in those conditions. We need more people like him.”

Another viewer blamed restaurant management, writing that supervisors should be conducting regular inspections and making sure employees are properly trained.

Headley’s videos had already racked up hundreds of thousands of views as horrified customers debated whether they would ever feel comfortable eating at the restaurant again.
