Foreign Lawmaker Threatens U.S. Annihilation

In a chilling message to the world, Russian lawmaker Andrei Gurulev delivered a stark warning: “There will be nothing left of America.”

This grave statement, made on Russia’s state-controlled TV program Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov, leaves little to the imagination as the Kremlin openly threatens nuclear escalation.

Gurulev’s comments signal that, in Russia’s eyes, the United States has crossed a line by empowering Ukraine with missile technology that can now strike deep into Russian territory. This move has infuriated Moscow, stoking fears of an all-out conflict between two nuclear superpowers.

The backdrop of these threats is clear: the Biden administration recently authorized Ukraine to use long-range ATACMS missiles, capable of striking targets far within Russia.

The move overturns a previous decision by the White House to withhold such capabilities, citing fears of further escalation. But in a last push to bolster Ukraine, Biden has put the high-stakes gamble on the table—a decision that now has Russian officials openly discussing retaliation.

Gurulev, a retired tank commander and State Duma deputy, didn’t mince words. He claimed that Moscow has the firepower to “destroy the entire nuclear potential of England and France in a single strike.” He alleged that this capability serves as a deterrent, warning the United States to stay out of Russia’s conflict with Ukraine.

For months now, Russia has broadcast such messages through state media, aiming them at both domestic audiences and foreign rivals. Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov, a show notorious for its pro-Kremlin stance, has been described by Ukrainian and Western observers as a tool of propaganda, drumming up support for the ongoing war effort.

This ominous rhetoric has a recent history. In October, after a similar escalation of U.S. aid to Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the deployment of 50,000 additional troops to the contested Kursk region, where they reportedly bolstered their ranks with 10,000 North Korean soldiers—a testament to Russia’s growing isolation and alliance-building with rogue states.

Meanwhile, American and Western intelligence reports indicate that these troops faced devastating losses. Ukrainian forces in the region, hardened by years of Western military aid and advanced defensive positions, have managed to put up a fierce resistance. According to Pentagon officials, Russian forces lost close to 200 vehicles in just two days in mid-November, leading Russian commentators to describe the region as a “meat grinder” for Moscow’s troops.

The timing of these threats couldn’t be more critical. With President Biden entering the final months of his administration, the U.S. continues to send Ukraine both weapons and funding. But change is on the horizon. President-elect Donald Trump, set to take office in January, has signaled a different approach. In line with his America First policy, Trump has assembled a cabinet that has raised concerns in Kyiv.

Figures like Rep. Matt Gaetz, who vocally opposes further aid to Ukraine, and Tulsi Gabbard, a former Democrat who questions America’s role in foreign conflicts, may drastically alter U.S. policy in Eastern Europe.

Observers worry that Moscow sees a window of opportunity to secure as much Ukrainian territory as possible before any potential shift in U.S. policy. Rumors have circulated that Trump could push for a ceasefire that might allow Russia to keep the land it seized, a move that some Republicans say would be a prudent de-escalation, while others argue it would be akin to appeasement.

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, continues to suffer under Russia’s relentless assault. Earlier this month, Russia launched its most intense air attack on Kyiv in recent history, firing an estimated 120 missiles and deploying 90 drones in a single assault, killing two civilians and injuring six others, including two children.

As the Kremlin’s threats grow louder, the stakes for American national security are mounting. Is the U.S. prepared for this level of nuclear brinksmanship? The world is watching, and the clock is ticking.
