President-elect Donald Trump has confirmed plans to declare a “national emergency” aimed at deporting millions of illegal migrants, signaling what could become the largest mass deportation effort in American history.

Responding to a post by Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton, Trump emphatically replied, “TRUE!!!” Fitton’s post celebrated reports of Trump’s readiness to mobilize military assets to “reverse the Biden invasion through a mass deportation program.”

Trump’s plan centers on an unprecedented use of executive power, with legal experts warning of potential clashes with longstanding laws. Among these is the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878, which limits the federal government’s ability to deploy military forces for domestic enforcement.
