Trump to End Birthright Citizenship in First Day in Office

President Donald Trump plans to eliminate birthright citizenship for children born to illegal immigrants through an executive order on his first day back in office, according to incoming White House officials.

“From day one, we will restore law and order at our borders,” an official stated during a press call Monday morning. “Birthright citizenship for illegal immigrants’ children will no longer be recognized moving forward.”

This announcement marks a dramatic escalation in Trump’s immigration policies. While the move reflects promises made during his campaign, it will likely spark legal battles over the interpretation of the 14th Amendment, which affirms that “all persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States.”

A Bold Agenda on Immigration

The executive order on citizenship is part of a larger plan involving ten immigration-related executive actions set for the inauguration day. These actions aim to tighten border security, deter illegal crossings, and address perceived threats from criminal networks.

“We are sending a clear message: the days of open borders are over,” another incoming official said.

Key measures expected to accompany the end of birthright citizenship include:

  • Reinstating “Remain in Mexico” policies for asylum seekers.
  • Ending “catch and release” practices.
  • Suspending refugee resettlements for four months.
  • Declaring criminal cartels like MS-13 as “global terrorists,” enabling their swift deportation.

The administration also plans to declare a national emergency at the southern border, authorizing the deployment of armed forces and the erection of additional barriers. “This is a matter of national security,” officials emphasized.

A Controversial Legal Path

Constitutional scholars anticipate challenges to Trump’s plans, especially regarding birthright citizenship. “The 14th Amendment was designed to ensure equality under the law,” says constitutional law professor Margaret Ellis. “Unilaterally altering its interpretation would provoke serious legal scrutiny.”

Others argue that Congress, not the president, should determine citizenship policies. Still, Trump’s team is confident. “The president’s authority on border and national security is broad,” the official maintained.

Voices from the Border

The announcement comes as thousands of migrants, including families and pregnant women, continue their journey north through Mexico.

Maria Hernandez, a Venezuelan migrant walking along the Rio Grande, expressed despair: “We came seeking safety. Now we hear they’ll send us back without even listening to us.”

Critics say the administration’s hardline approach risks violating international humanitarian obligations.

However, supporters argue the measures are necessary. “For years, these policies have been bleeding our country dry,” said James Calloway, a rancher from Texas. “Trump is protecting American families.”

First-Day Executive Actions

Trump is poised to sign off on nearly 200 executive actions on his first day, marking a historic and controversial return to office. The signing ceremonies may take place at the Capitol or during a rally at the Capitol One Arena.

Trump’s planned actions extend beyond immigration, including renaming landmarks like Mount Denali and the Gulf of Mexico to honor “American greatness.”

  1. That should go for everyone that had family that came over on the Mayflower plus every ship after that. I have 3 different NATIVE American blood in me alo g with Highland Scottish blood. KING TRUMP AKA HITLER WANTS A NAZI AMERICA

I also have Native Blood but I fail to see how those who came on Mayflower or on many of the ships after can be counted in due to there being no United States of America or formal government at that time . In fact it was only about the time of Ellis Island that immigration by anyone coming to America began to be addressed . Our southern border states have been an open door for not only illegal immigration but for narcotics trafficking and criminal activities of other forms . Not to mention the costs of supporting those illegals who sign up and receive medicade and government support checks all at taxpayer expense . That takes away from our own legal citizens in need . These people also take jobs from our citizens . I have no problem with legally entering America , but to enter illegally then have a child born here and expect special privilege is not fair to those who entered legally nor to the natural citizens be they of Native Blood or descendents of the Mayflower and subsequent ships

  2. Cindyann60, there are no “native Americans” as you claim. The people we’re calling Native are descendants of Asians who crossed the land bridge which since the last ice age is the Bering Strait. Those same “native Americans” hunted the passenger pigeon and American lion to extinction, and were on the way to doing the same to the bison. They also introduced smoking tobacco to the world.
    And BTW, Cindyann, those 11 million illegal aliens are costing American taxpayers a trillion dollars a year, which I guess you don’t care, because you don’t pay taxes and instead live off my taxes for food, lodging, medical care, and cell phone service–just like the illegals.
