Fox News firebrand Laura Ingraham unleashed a scathing takedown of freshman Democratic Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari on Tuesday night, slamming what she called a “performative spectacle” surrounding a deported Salvadoran national with a criminal past.
The interview, which aired during a fiery segment on The Ingraham Angle, centered around Ansari’s headline-grabbing trip to El Salvador. The Arizona Democrat made the journey to personally visit Kilmar Abrego Garcia—a man the Supreme Court recently ruled was wrongfully deported under the Trump administration.

But Ingraham wasn’t buying the Congresswoman’s crusade.
“You hopped a plane to El Salvador for a photo-op,” Ingraham scoffed. “You want to play the hero while ignoring the facts. This man had gang ties. He was accused of domestic violence. And now you want him back in our neighborhoods?”
Ansari, who tried to pivot the discussion toward due process and the Supreme Court ruling, was repeatedly cut off.
“This isn’t about law,” Ingraham snapped. “This is about Democrats cozying up to criminals to score points with their open-borders base.”
The two clashed for several tense minutes, with both women talking over each other before Ingraham stopped the back-and-forth cold.
“Stop. This isn’t CNN,” she said. “You’re not going to drown out the truth with word salads.”
Ansari claimed the issue was bipartisan and framed her efforts as a defense of constitutional rights.
But Ingraham didn’t flinch. She fired back with a chilling example: a separate case involving another Salvadoran immigrant charged with murdering a woman in Maryland.
“This is what happens when your party makes excuses for criminals,” she said bluntly.
Ansari tried to steer the conversation back to the case at hand, accusing Ingraham of deflection. “This is about one manwho was denied his legal rights,” she said. “We are a country of laws.”
But Ingraham was unmoved.
“If that’s your definition of justice,” she said, shaking her head, “then maybe you should spend more time defending law-abiding Americans than lobbying for dangerous men to re-enter this country.”
With that, Ingraham ended the segment. “You don’t support deportation, no matter what the facts are. That’s the bottom line.”
Background: Kilmar Abrego Garcia was deported in 2020 after federal authorities flagged him for potential gang affiliation and domestic abuse complaints. His deportation was later challenged on procedural grounds. In 2025, the Supreme Court ruled that the Trump administration had erred, ordering the federal government to allow him a path to return.
Critics say the case is being politicized by Democrats eager to paint Trump-era immigration policies as unlawful. Supporters of the deportation say Garcia should never have been in the U.S. in the first place.
And Ingraham? She made her stance clear: “If protecting our citizens makes the Left miserable—good.”

Congresswoman. I would have hoped that Laura would have defended Pres. Trump

The fact that the SCOTUS is willing to extend American rights to illegal aliens, who have and are violating our laws amazes me. This worthless pos has flaunted our laws, committed crimes in the US, was judged by a court and ordered deported and yet somehow the American Communist Lawyers Union is hell bent on bringing this human garbage back to create mayhem in our country. Hmmm bet a carton of cigarettes would settle this problem inside of the El Salvador prison very quickly. Why do these idiot politicos feel that the government of El Salvador needs to do anything?
