Meghan Markle’s rebrand may be in full swing—but the British public isn’t buying it. A bombshell new poll reveals the Duchess of Sussex has hit rock bottom in popularity across the U.K., despite her latest attempts to reinvent herself as a lifestyle guru.
According to a YouGov survey conducted on May 6-7, only 20% of British adults have a favorable view of Meghan Markle—the lowest score since polling began in 2017. A staggering 65% view her negatively, giving her a net approval rating of -45.
Prince Harry didn’t fare much better. Just 27% see him in a positive light, with 63% expressing disapproval—putting his net score at -36, also near historic lows.
Gen Z Shrugs, Boomers Say “Enough”
The most dramatic divide? Age. Among Brits over 65—a generation that remembers the late Queen Elizabeth II with reverence—86% say they dislike Meghan. That figure drops to 50% among Gen Z, where Meghan’s score sits at a still-unimpressive -2.
Harry’s numbers mirror hers: older voters overwhelmingly reject him, while younger ones remain indifferent at best.
Meghan’s California Makeover Isn’t Working
In 2025, Meghan launched a full-scale PR offensive—pivoting from palace critic to “brand boss.” Her Netflix cooking series With Love, Meghan, lifestyle line As Ever, and entrepreneur-focused podcast Confessions of a Female Foundermarked a sharp turn from her earlier, monarchy-bashing media efforts.
Royal observers speculated the move was designed to soften her image and shift public focus away from her and Harry’s Oprah tell-alls and docuseries rants. But the numbers tell a different story.
“She tried to pivot to positivity, but it’s not working,” said British royal expert Angela Levin. “The public has long memories—and in Meghan’s case, a long list of grievances.”
Meanwhile, William and Kate Dominate
While the Sussexes flounder, the Prince and Princess of Wales are soaring. Prince William boasts a +59 net approval rating, with 75% of Brits viewing him favorably. Princess Kate matches him nearly identically, also sitting at +59, with a 72% approval rate.
Princess Anne, widely respected for her no-nonsense work ethic, followed close behind with a +58 score.
Even King Charles III, who faced skepticism early in his reign, holds a net positive +32, while Queen Camilla remains a polarizing figure at +5.
The Bigger Picture: What This Means for America
While Meghan and Harry have made the U.S. their new home, this steep collapse in U.K. support could have ripple effects in America, especially among Republican-leaning audiences who have grown tired of celebrity activism wrapped in royal drama.
“They keep talking about mental health and modern values, but to many Americans it just sounds like whining from the world’s most privileged victims,” said conservative columnist Erin Hartley.
Critics also note the hypocrisy in Meghan’s brand transformation.
“She went from slamming the monarchy as racist and outdated to selling candles and recipes. It’s all performative,” said Hartley. “The American public—especially on the right—is done with it.”
What’s Next for the Sussexes?
Insiders say Meghan is eyeing a book deal and Harry may be looking to relaunch his Invictus Games brand. But with trust eroding on both sides of the Atlantic, they may find fewer takers for their next act.

The free-fall is brutal but they both are well deserving of it. The lies they both have told over the years and the constant dragging the RF in the mud is the source of it. Neither one of them has a FREAKING CLUE as to act in public. Their constant whining is grating on one’s ears and they are losing ground every time they open their mouths. The Netflix scam was a disaster for both of them and the Shrew THINKS selling candles and whatnot will boost her image? She’s just PATHETIC like Harry.
They just need to realize that the gig is up and retire behind the walls of their house (while they still have it). The frauds have worn out their welcome AND place in society.
