Obama’s WH Doctor Slams Biden’s Mental Decline as ‘Obvious’

Former presidential physician says Americans were misled as Biden’s fitness crumbled in plain sight

A former White House physician is sounding the alarm about what he calls a dangerous failure at the highest level of government: the refusal to properly test Joe Biden’s cognitive health during his time in office.

Dr. Jeffrey Kuhlman, who served as President Barack Obama’s physician from 2009 to 2013, told reporters this week that Biden should have undergone multiple neurocognitive evaluations during his presidency—something that never happened.

“At that age, it’s not optional,” said Kuhlman. “It’s medical negligence.”

Kuhlman, now a healthcare advisor and author of Transforming Presidential Healthcare, has long advocated for mandatory cognitive testing for all politicians over 70. He first laid out the proposal in a New York Times op-ed in late 2024, just days after Biden withdrew from his reelection campaign following a nationally televised debate performance many called “disoriented” and “disturbing.”

“You Can’t Just Ignore Decline”

Dr. Kuhlman said that while it’s common for people over 70 to experience some mental decline, the stakes are drastically higher when the person in question holds the nuclear codes.

“If you’re in your 80s and still the president, your memory, your reasoning, your processing speed—all of that should be tested regularly,” he said. “We test pilots, soldiers, even truck drivers. Why not the commander-in-chief?”

Kuhlman noted that while Biden’s medical reports—spanning five to six pages and referencing nearly two dozen specialists—were published annually, they included no neurocognitive testing and no Montreal Cognitive Assessment, a screening tool used by former President Donald Trump, who “aced it” during his first term.

Trump Took the Test—Why Didn’t Biden?

“The American people deserve transparency,” said Kuhlman. “President Trump volunteered to take a cognitive test and shared the results. Biden refused. That should tell you everything.”

The Montreal test is considered a basic screen, but Kuhlman said Biden should have received more advanced testing, along with regular brain scans—especially following the 2024 attempted assassination of Trump, when Biden was reportedly given a CT scan, the results of which were never publicly released.

A Culture of Concealment

Kuhlman placed blame not only on the president’s inner circle, but also on his personal physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, who served alongside him since his vice presidency.

“I respect Kevin, but when you’re too close, you can’t see the full picture,” Kuhlman said. “Sometimes those closest to the tree miss the forest.”

O’Connor has never taken questions from the press—breaking with decades of White House medical tradition—and instead released annual physicals that described minor ailments like arthritis and acid reflux but avoided direct commentary on cognitive function.

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, now estranged from the administration and writing a tell-all memoir, once told reporters, “The president doesn’t need a cognitive test. He passes one every day.”

But insiders say that was spin, not science.

Parkinson’s Specialist Raised Red Flags

White House visitor logs later revealed that Dr. Kevin Cannard, a top Parkinson’s expert at Walter Reed, met with Biden in early 2024. The meeting was dismissed by O’Connor as routine, but experts weren’t buying it.

“If you showed me that video of him walking, I’d diagnose him from across the National Mall,” said neurologist Dr. Tom Pitts in a July 2024 NBC interview, citing Biden’s rigid posture and shuffling gait. “It’s classic.”

Congress Now Investigating

With growing scrutiny over Biden’s capacity to serve, the Republican-led House Oversight Committee has subpoenaed Dr. O’Connor to testify under oath later this month. Chairman James Comer (R-KY) alleges O’Connor’s personal and financial ties to the Biden family may have contributed to a cover-up of the president’s true medical condition.

“The American people were kept in the dark,” said Comer. “We’re going to find out who knew what and when.”

Jean-Pierre is also expected to testify. According to early drafts of her upcoming book, she began raising concerns inside the White House about Biden’s apparent decline in late 2023—but was silenced by senior aides.

The Final Blow: Cancer Diagnosis and a Bombshell Book

Just days before the release of Original Sin, an explosive exposé co-authored by CNN’s Jake Tapper and Axios reporter Alex Thompson, Biden confirmed a diagnosis of metastatic prostate cancer that had spread to his bones.

The book details years of alleged concealment inside the Biden White House, including resistance from Dr. O’Connor to administer cognitive exams and internal panic following the president’s faltering public appearances.

According to Kuhlman, O’Connor had the tools—and the history—to act. He performed prostate screenings for Biden during his vice presidency, but may have chosen to stop, or suppress, those evaluations once Biden became president.

“If the PSA test was done and showed something serious, and it wasn’t released, that’s unacceptable,” Kuhlman said. “I hope he documented everything. Because now the public—and Congress—will be asking for answers.”

Bottom Line:
As evidence mounts that Biden’s physical and mental health were in sharp decline during his final years in office, a growing chorus of voices—including from inside his own medical team—is demanding accountability. With hearings set for later this month, the question isn’t just whether Biden was fit to lead—it’s whether America was deliberately misled.
