Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu just dropped a geopolitical bombshell in an exclusive Fox News interview, revealing that Iran’s radical Islamic regime plotted to assassinate President Donald Trump—calling him “enemy number one” for derailing their nuclear ambitions.
In his first public remarks since Israel launched a massive offensive against Iran’s nuclear program, Netanyahu didn’t hold back. He told anchor Bret Baier that Tehran viewed Trump as the biggest threat to their atomic agenda—and acted accordingly.
“They want to kill him,” Netanyahu said flatly.
“He’s a decisive leader who refused to play their game. He tore up Obama’s deal, eliminated Soleimani, and made it crystal clear that Iran will never get the bomb—not on his watch.”
The Israeli leader said the plot to assassinate Trump was personal and ideological. “He didn’t coddle them. He confronted them. And now he’s their number one target,” Netanyahu declared.
A Nuclear Clock Ticking Down
Netanyahu also revealed that Iran wasn’t just targeting individuals. It was preparing for something far more dangerous: mass nuclear destruction.
“We were staring down an imminent threat—two of them,” he said.
“First, the Iranians racing to weaponize their enriched uranium. Second, a surge in ballistic missiles—thousands of them—each one capable of obliterating our cities.”
According to Netanyahu, Iran was on track to build over 10,000 long-range missiles in just a few years—many designed to carry nuclear payloads at hypersonic speeds.
“No nation—especially one the size of Israel—can survive that. We had to strike. And we had to do it now,” Netanyahu emphasized.
The Operation: ‘Rising Lion’
The Israeli leader confirmed that Operation Rising Lion—Israel’s preemptive strike on Iranian nuclear infrastructure—was already underway when Iran retaliated with a barrage of ballistic missiles. Many were intercepted, but damage was done.
Still, Netanyahu claimed victory.
“We’ve set their program back significantly,” he said. “The diplomatic route failed. This was the only option left.”
He also noted that his own home had been targeted in a brazen missile attack. A warhead blasted into his bedroom window—another chilling sign of Iran’s intent.
Trump’s Shadow Looms Large
Netanyahu praised Trump as a historic ally and said they shared a common goal: preventing Iran from ever becoming a nuclear state.
“President Trump understood the threat better than anyone,” Netanyahu said. “He led. I followed. That’s why they targeted both of us.”
He added that Trump’s assassination was not just a political hit—it was a strategic move to clear the path for Iranian supremacy in the Middle East.
The Message to America
While Israel bears the brunt of Iran’s wrath, Netanyahu made it clear: the threat extends far beyond the region.
“This is not just about Israel. A nuclear Iran means global terror with a radioactive leash,” he warned.
“This is our 12th hour. Act now—or live to regret it.”
What’s Next?
Despite Iran’s retaliation, Netanyahu says the operation will continue—and if necessary, expand.
“We will do whatever it takes,” he said. “This regime has oppressed its people for 50 years and threatens global peace. We will not allow them to finish what Hitler started.”
Netanyahu’s sit-down with Bret Baier will re-air at 5 PM ET tonight on Fox News.
This latest revelation turns up the heat on an already volatile conflict—and proves once again that when it comes to standing up to terror, Trump’s legacy still casts a long and defiant shadow.
