Postal Worker Stabbed in Broad Daylight After Street Dispute in Miami

A U.S. Postal Service worker was brutally stabbed Monday afternoon in a quiet neighborhood just north of Miami, authorities confirmed, after what began as a routine delivery spiraled into a violent confrontation on the street.

The incident happened shortly after 2:30 p.m. near the intersection of Northeast 10th Avenue and Northeast 117th Street in Biscayne Park. Law enforcement officials say the victim—a uniformed postal carrier—was assaulted following a verbal altercation with a civilian. The argument turned physical in seconds.

“He was just doing his job,” said a nearby resident who witnessed the aftermath. “Next thing you know, there’s yelling, and then the guy lunged at him with something in his hand.”

The victim, whose identity has not been released, suffered a stab wound to the torso. Biscayne Park police officers arrived quickly, found the wounded federal employee conscious and alert, and applied first aid on scene. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue then transported him to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where he remains in stable condition.

“We’re extremely relieved his injuries aren’t life-threatening,” a USPS spokesperson said Monday evening. “Our employees serve the public every day, and no one deserves to be attacked while wearing this uniform.”

The unnamed suspect was apprehended without incident and is currently in custody. Police have yet to release charges, but sources say the assailant could face federal penalties for assaulting a government worker.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service has launched a parallel investigation, confirming the stabbing stemmed from a verbal dispute. Federal inspectors and local law enforcement are working together to determine motive.

Authorities insist this appears to be an isolated incident and say there is no ongoing threat to the community.

Under President Donald Trump’s renewed focus on law and order, attacks on federal personnel are being taken more seriously than ever. In recent months, his administration has expanded protections for postal workers and increased penalties for assaulting government employees in the line of duty.
