President Donald Trump dismissed a bizarre viral video that appeared to show plastic bags being tossed from a White House window, calling the footage “totally fake” and blaming artificial intelligence for fueling conspiracy theories online.
The short clip, which exploded across social media over the weekend, racked up millions of views and sparked wild speculation about who—or what—was throwing objects from an alleged upper-level window. Some online users claimed the items came from the Lincoln Bedroom, while others accused the administration of “covering up” hidden activities.

But during a jam-packed press conference on Tuesday, Trump shut down the frenzy in classic Trump fashion.
“You can’t open the windows, folks,” the president said, laughing as Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy played the clip on a giant screen. “They’re bulletproof. They’re sealed. Each one weighs about 600 pounds. You’d have to be Superman to push one open.”
Melania Trump, the First Lady, apparently shares the frustration. “My wife was just complaining about it the other day,” Trump added. “‘Love to have a little fresh air come in,’ she said. But you can’t. They’re locked up tighter than Fort Knox.”
Trump didn’t miss the opportunity to hammer one of his recurring concerns: the dangers posed by AI-generated content.
“One of the problems we have right now is AI,” Trump told reporters. “It can be very good, but it can also be very dangerous. People create these fake videos, and the media runs with it. Something bad happens, and they say, ‘Oh, look at this!’ But a lot of it is phony. Totally phony.”
The president has repeatedly warned about the rise of deepfake technology and called on Congress earlier this year to pass new laws cracking down on malicious AI-generated content.
“This is exactly what I’ve been talking about,” Trump said. “They’re using AI to deceive the American people. Not on my watch.”
While the video continues to trend online, Trump supporters have dismissed it as another attempt to smear the administration.
“This is just another fake news stunt to make Trump look bad,” one user wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “They’ve been trying this garbage since 2016, and it still isn’t working.”
Others compared the incident to past hoaxes, pointing out that the White House underwent security upgrades during Trump’s first term, including reinforced bulletproof glass and fully sealed windows—making the claims “physically impossible.”
Despite the president’s remarks, the video has continued to circulate as fuel for conspiracy theories. Experts predict this won’t be the last time AI-generated content targets the Trump administration as the 2026 midterms approach.
“This is a preview of what’s coming,” a senior administration official told us. “Americans need to question everything they see online.”
